The company lost $52 million last quarter and are still having issues with Florida. But their plan to displace a huge portion of pilots to Florida still appears to be going forward. (In the last town hall Bendo seemed particularly happy that this is happening) The slow displacement method due to attrition the last few months looked like it was going well. I wonder what the hell they are thinking?
Miramar, Florida-based Spirit posted a net loss of $52.4 million for the three months ended June 30. Revenue rose nearly 35% from pre-pandemic 2019 to almost $1.37 billion. Expenses soared more than 66% compared with three years ago. Its fuel bill more than doubled.
….
In the current quarter, Spirit expects pretax margins between negative 1% and positive 1%, citing capacity constraints in Florida.

And to think there were a few people who thought the displacement was not going to happen because Frontier is gone. Haha. Silly silly boys.

This company and especially this union continue to crack me up. New email from union today on the Co Base….basically says they don’t agree with what the company is doing, and can’t do anything about it, so we need to just take it in the butt.. glad to see my union dues hard at work. Still have few months left in ORD as big CA
“ The MEC is profoundly disappointed that even while Spirit management admits that the historic rate of attrition is limiting their ability to improve aircraft utilization, they have once again decided to take actions that further degrade the quality of life for our pilots. We encourage pilots with questions about this confounding strategy to point those inquiries directly to Spirit management.”
If you are so disappointed, then DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT with alll we pay in dues 💩

Being as anyone that doesn’t have a choice in their domicile is going to be a NH, which just so happens to be the lowest paid Airbus pilot in the industry, the transition to a co-domicile is going to be painful for NK.

Serious question but other than the usual NY domiciles, where else does anyone have co domiciles? Do others have a FLL/MIA thing too? I feel like the frequency and availability of public transportation in the NY area makes it work. Not so much of that in south FL.

Either way, crying because the company is adhering to the contract that we both agreed to is a bad look from the union.
