any any of our cities is just that, an assumption.
It’s tiring hearing to some extent JetBlue wants This to expand, and gain planes and pilots. This does accomplish that but that’s just a means to an end. We’ve expanded rapidly and organically. They could have done the same. They could have experimented with the Latrobes, Myrtles of the world. They saw the potential F9/NK marriage as a real threat and last minute decided to throw their weight behind blocking it, but trying to sell it as a great deal and benefit to all. All under the guise of ‘we’ve just wanted to expand all along’

So B6 is going to be a 7500 pilot, 500+ plane airline completely based on the East coast other than that brush fire they’re managing in LAX?
Some need to think this through a hair more. No, they’re not going to keep all the Spirit bases. That’s probably a safe bet. But there isn’t enough market to support a LCC in the east coast fortress hubs, and B6 only dabbles with the unbundled product. So where will JetBlue compete if there’s not enough LCC market on the East Coast and they’re not interested breaking into the ULCC market there in a meaningful way?
Is everyone decreasing their flying nationwide because they can’t staff? Would B6 have 3000 additional pilots and 200 or so new planes to address some of those market opportunities while not having to worry about their own regional feed? Anyone think that situation is going to be fixed in two years?
Its a real attempt to be the 5th biggest airline. It is partially a defensive measure. It is not an attempt to own the airline market East of HVQ and no more.

Why? Not that they care what we want but ATL filled without a single displacement.
Although if they're willing to give up DTW they must not think they are competing with Delta.
