Displacement Bid
#612
Not defending it, but I didn’t read it as “even more” 1-2 day trips than previously announced.
In fact I didn’t read anything in the “update” that we haven’t already been told:
Software issues with reduction bid: check
Florida-centric airline and it’s ATC’s fault: check
More 1-2 day pairings: check
Adding training capacity: check
Waste of five minutes reading it: check

Needless to say you won't find many people here complaining about the lack of four day trips, unless sitting in the Hampton Inn XYZ airport for three nights every week is your cup of tea.

So is our management incompetent, malicious, or am I just too smooth brained to see the bigger picture?
"The airline is growing rapidly..." (lie)
"...we need to add Crew Bases and “right size” some of our current domiciles to support our operation"
"...we need more resiliency in the network to quickly recover from ATC or weather-driven operational disruptions, especially in anticipation of summer storms in Florida"
"...we need to significantly shift the trip mix for June at every base to include more one and two-duty day trips in the pairings and fewer 4-duty day trips. "
So just so I understand, they are going to add 300 commuters to Florida, make them commute more often (2 day vs. 4 day), and when weather shuts down the south east and nobody can get in or out we will have less IROPs?

Yeah maybe not for you specifically, but plenty live super close and will scrounge over whatever doesn't go to training. I'll bet a buffalo nickel most in the FL bases will gladly take two 2 day trips versus one 4 day, unless you're married and hate your family or have a gf in a certain layover city.
