They might as well make it $1B. The breakup fees are optics to shareholders because ALL sides know that EITHER deal will pass DOJ scrutiny. There's no way the shareholders turn down the B6 offer. Welcome aboard to my NK brethren.

jetblue is completely off the hook if the merger process takes too long or stock price changes too much.

I assume Franke can up his after at any point? He’ll just wait for the vote, and if the vote is no he’ll just raise the offer. Doubt he will lose without a fight.
