EXACTLY. Or like when they say "oh prices will go up!" Okay so the big 4 just get to have a monopoly on air travel forever then? It makes no sense.

They got downgraded to underweight because we lost Barry Biffle yesterday. But don’t worry, we will be overweight again as soon as Robin is the CEO of the new company.

I mean, the pricing difference between JB and a flight on a legacy is negligible. Heck sometimes when I want to buy a ticket between cities, DL is less than JB on the same date within an hour of each other. Then there's Spirit. Flies the same aircraft as JB and DL on the same route, just later at night. A fraction of the price.

Eliminating the Spirit option is certainly a loss for the customer on a budget. In which the regulators may have beef with. I dunno though. I'm just a pilot. Honestly just speculating on this stuff.

Losing SAVE will be a blow. When we look to purchase tickets between us, WN, and AA our prices are a fraction of the cost of either. That's going to hurt downrange.

ALPA merger policy is “Merger Announcement Date”. Its not relevant when it closes or is approved. All that matters is when the merger is announced. Anyone at either airline will be placed below all the pilots at the other airline.

Also remember that all that matters are 3 things with ALPA.

Status and Category
Widebody - 777/787
Narrowbody - 737 Airbus 319-321
Small Narrowbody E-190, A220, etc

Longevity

Career Expectations (this only applies to fences to protect widebody flying). It is to prevent an airline with a bunch of WB from acquiring a small airline, and then those pilots immediately being able to fly the WB planes they would have not had an expectation to fly.

The “payrate” integration argument has never worked. Even CAL argued their 767-400 should be integrated as a 747 because of the payrates, but it was rejected per the policy. Payrates are not mentioned in policy anywhere.

This merger should be pretty straightforward since the fleets are relatively the same except the small narrowbody planes at B6. Everyone should be within a couple percent depending on longevity.

Lol...right? Already in the corners piS$ing trying to mark territories. 190s will be gone by the time we merge and the 220 will not be discounted, but I guess if I was on the NK MnA committee, I'd try that line of thinking too.
