you aren’t too big to fail.and a govt bailout would set a bad precedent. You will merge with f9 and jb to create a national LCC. the govt will give the new company operating cash to be repaid. It’s the only way out.

You have to consider the times and relative size. All airlines were much smaller back then and can’t be compared to today. The big legacy airlines only had around 500 aircraft, so relatively speaking Eastern, Pan Am, and Braniff shutting the doors would be considered big players and too big to fail but they’re all gone.

Eastern had a 15% domestic market share a few years before they collapsed. Spirit's market share now is about 1.8%.
