I hear they're going to put a photo of Elin on the side of their airplane (think Southwest) with the saying "no matter how hot she is... somebody somewhere is tired of ........ her." A campaign against all the other airlines.

The ad was funny. And did what advertising is suppose to to, create BUZZ! I actually like all of Spirits advertising; I couldn't be that creative on my best day!

Tiger jokes:
When asked by the police how many times Elin hit Tiger, she replied, "I can't remember exactly...go ahead and put me down for a five."
What's similar about a seal and Tiger Woods? They both got clubbed by a Norwegian...
What's the difference between a car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 300 yards...
What was Elin doing at 2:30 in the morning? Clubbing...
I think we all have a sense of humor. It's just that some of us disagree that Spirit decided it would be a good idea to try and PROFIT from this situation. I can have an open mind. Yes, I thought the ad was funny...but I also thought it would be better served on a website like ebaumsworld or jib-jab.

Last time the news (phone calls going out, rumors, etc.) came around mid September for effective December 1st. This has been the trend for all he recalls so far. We still have about 1-2 weeks before they will make up their mind about effective March 1st recalls. If no news by the 2nd half of December, we can only hope for effective April 1st. I too have an ear inside, and as far as last week there was no news, good or bad. The drama continues...

Looks like there is a change in management - new COO and new VP of Flight Ops. Have no clue if this is a good thing or not.

Allegedly...these are the new officers/managers at Spirit Airlines...
New Chief Operating Officer is Ken McKenzie
- Formerly EVP of Operations at WestJet Airlines
New VP of Flight Operations is Christopher Grazel
- Most recently COO at JetAmerica (the start-up that never started up..)
- Formerly Chief Pilot/VP of Ops at Skybus (the start-up that flopped!)
- Formerly Assistant Chief Pilot/Check Airman at US Airways
LinkedIn Profiles:
Ken McKenzie - LinkedIn
Christopher Grazel - VP of Flight Operations at Spirit Airlines | LinkedIn
I too can't figure out if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Bringing in McKenzie from a Canadian carrier could be important if the airline wants to eventually fly to Canadian markets?? I'm sure he could help with the political process up there.
Bringing in a Grazel could be significant if the airline has any plans to ever merge or be acquired by US Airways (given BBB's and Grazel's ties to the struggling legacy carrier).
Or, maybe they just needed a job.
