Apparently, it's become quite the internet story.

AppleInsider is crediting a runway map for Ronald Reagen Washington as the culprit. Looks like it crashed the whole Jeppesen App. It also looks like American doesn't have the safeguards we have in place to combat that issue.

I haven't seen CNN yet, but I'm sure their 'aviation experts' are coming up with all kinds of opinions on the safety of iPads in the flight deck, how hackers could bring doom to airlines that use EFBs and other such nonsense.

What was VERY interesting was seeing quotes from "tech savvy" Austin-bound travelers who had their own opinions, ie., "paper maps don't crash"!

If a Spirit pilot values his/her investment in Spirit stock, he/she must realize that the moves BBB takes to keep the stock overvalued are in direct conflict with our expectations of making higher wages as a Spirit pilot.

There was a time in the world when business managed themselves for profitable operations. If their management was basically intelligent and honest, they managed themselves for profits in the long term.

That time is past. Wealth is created now with increases in stock valuation, not in running a profitable operation. BBB will do what he has to keep the stock value up. Our best hope of a pay raise will be when the participants on these investor calls get scared of labor unrest.
Uhhh. No, just no.

Thanks for the help.
Make sure you research the flights by click on the reservation classes in myidtravel. They will give you a good indicator if you are getting on an OA or not.

Yes, I was going to mention SWA... They compete with us now on every route we fly out of DFW, they fly out of Love... I'm not sure how long AA and SWA can keep their pricing down to compete with ours??
A lot longer than we can, or are willing to in the grand scheme of things. SWA has such a massive and dedicated flying base in the metroplex that they can demand a fare premium. Even in markets where they cannot achieve one they will sacrifice it and more than make up for it in other areas of their network due to the fact that is their home base and it is what they have been hyping up for decades now. Dont kid yourself, DAL for SWA prints money faster than the Federal Reserve does.

Thats not to say DFW will be shuttered, but it is a reality that the softening is more than likely long term. Also do not forget that there is a 3rd player softening a few (overlapping) markets such as LGA, the DC area and the left coast as well fighting WN; VX.

So, does this mean we will probably call "Uncle" and shift focus out of DFW? Does this put more of a focus on IAH?

A follow up to that; what difference would IAH be since SWA is huge in HOB?

Where do you go, that SWA isn't? It would seem they're just changing, and some other external factors have changed, the reality to one that is more realistic as it relates to our earnings?

This has been happening for quite a while already. The reality is we have a crap product that is only viable when it is significantly cheaper than the competition. With 70-80 airplanes and low oil SW can cause us a lot of problems system wide and hardly effect their earnings. IMHO we need a large sustained rise in oil or we need to get bigger, fast, IE Merge with Frontier.

I am curious what RP4242 thinks but it would seem that the negative RASM isn't sustainable beyond a few quarters, once our CASM hits bottom the negative RASM will be a big problem.

Or maybe I have no idea what im talking about

My impression was that we are not avoiding SWA markets.
More so now, that they are actually no longer a LCC.
LAX, BUR, SNA, ONT, LGB, OAK, SJC, SMF, need bare fares too!
