I figured the same. Why pay me when a first year pay guy can do it for nothing.

I ran a Spirit pilot Yahoo e-circle from 2001 to 2005. I allowed pilots to be anonymous, but that anonymity was covered by my reputation. IOW, I guaranteed that all participants were seniority list pilots. I finally shut it down because I got tired of the negativity, NOT between participants in the e-circle board - but from the pilots who choose to never log on. You see, some will complain no matter what you do.
As you know, I used my name on the old, now gone Spiritpilotboard, and I'll ask you this: do I receive any respect from my detractors because I used my name there or because they know who I am here? Absolutely not.
Let me put it this way, whether you want to admit it or not, pilots are reluctant to engage in truly honest dissension on a "use your real name forum", because people like the above mentioned ex FLL FO rep - ARE intimidators. We all know it.
Some like his antics because they think they agree with his agenda, some despise his antics because they don't feel that a union rep should be a bully. As long as pilots are required to ID themselves, you won't get much discussion when another member of your forum is such a person. He still represents SPA ALPA in the minds of most Spirit pilots regardless of his current status as just a line pilot. The NC Chair and he are long time friends, he is still influential and pilots don't want to take a chance in getting on the wrong side of power.
As far as the APC participants who would like all things negative to Spirit to be taken to NKPilots, it aint gonna happen……for the aforementioned reason.

Quick Question. If we are on reserve, can we drop a reserve day without using float or mandatory vacation time and just reduce our credit by 4 hours?

Yes. I do it all the time. Also, you can drop the middle day of a block of reserve days if you want to make sure you don't get called out for a four day etc.

Again, there are many other uses for nkpilots besides politics. It is not meant to replace a union meeting and it is not an ideal place to vent out frustration (but you can if that is what you want). Real names comes with limitations and advantages as well. Use it as you wish or as it fits you, or do not use it at all. It is up to you.
I know you aren't referring to me, SB. I just figured I'd point out again that he is referring to a rep from two terms in the past. And you yes you do get an added bit of respect for using your real name. Its what gave me the idea to change my username to my name.
The named message boards are just fine for having a dispute raised. I've seen it done elsewhere and I don't see the reason people are so afraid here. Grow some stones and man up and post with your real name. Or don't. I have a lot of respect for those who take a step ahead of the fear mongering about named message boards.
