I mean, really. We only wear the headset up to and back fromFL180, for a fraction of the total flight. Why people have to buy and haul around their $500 headset to use blows me away.

However, it is a party foul for sure that if you do decide to be different - that you plug back in the ships' headset for the next guy since you unplugged it to begin with!

Oh really?

What if you showed up to the plane, the ship headset wasn't plugged in, and you have your own? So at no time did you need to touch the ship headset that already wasn't plugged in.

Is it still your responsibility to plug in the ship headset when you leave? Curious minds want to know!

Why? Maybe some of us don't want to pick up a nasty head cold/flu/herpes/god knows what else from the thoughtful among us that fly when they're sick. That's why.

I got in the airplane today and plugged my $500 headset in. And that was it!
Big thanks for not plugging the company headset back in.

Then when I got off, I plugged it in. You're welcome. Or, I'm sorry if you unplugged it again.

Wow. I guess I'm in the minority here. Here being APC. I wipe it down first. Does that count? And no, I'm not a germophobe. But I'll GUARANTEE the ship headset was plugged in before you - or the previous other Bose headset user - unplugged it in the first place.

I won't dog you for using your own headset. But if you unplug the ship set, you should plug it back in after you're finished. If not, then I disagree.

I've seen the frustration MANY times from my fellow crewmembers when dealing with this. While it may be trite to be sure, and I can't speak for them, I'm willing to bet you may not see the "lost and found email" should you ever forget your $500 headset.

No, you're not the minority with the pilot group. It's about as disrespectful as leaving the trash in the cockpit. Arguing here isn't worth it.

^^^^^THIS^^^^^

Is it really that hard to plug the headset back in? The headset that is a part of the aircraft's equipment.

I tried convincing my wife I got herpes from the airplane headset. She didn't buy it.
