What's up with our 30/7 protection? Word is that the crewsced says "as long as they don't violate it when building lines", it no longer counts. Spirit really knows how to repay a favor, NOT!
That was an FAR. Contact is built to no greater than 29/7...
I wonder if the legacies know they could cripple us by doing just this...and it wouldn't take much.
I'm sure theres a lot of us the legacies won't take, so if it means I move up in seniority here, all the better. But there's plenty of guys out there to be hired from corporate and the regionals, I don't think we have to worry about them taking all our pilots. That's just nonsense.

^ THIS! It's a fear for them, but not right now. Attrition is at trickle at best right now. The Legacy hiring floodgates do not really open till late this fall. But, we all know how reactive and behind the power curve our leaders can be..(meltdown, FA hiring)..so to actually think they might believe giving us a contract proactively is pure nonsense.

Which brings up another subject- I'm not sure why a new hire would want to come here anyway with the Legacy's hiring like crazy. We all know our contract lacks severely in most areas compared to theirs. Why not stay at your regional where your pay isn't much less than our first year and wait for the call from the big 3, JetBlue or Virgin......
Because as much as we b*tch about spirit, its still better than any regional and most corporate gigs. Better than my last gig by far. The pay has to come up, but I'd put my qol as a commuter up against any legacy. Minus the pay,mid like more pay.

The sad part is the above sentence... "It's better than my regional." I'm so tired of hearing this place being compared to a regional...

Just imagine, we can keep up the current trend and have ALL of our first officers coming from Great Lakes and Embry Riddle with NO jet experience!
