I wouldn't deliberately delay a flt for notams that are not relevant to my route, but as you say if the are on the release they must be important to the flight.

My case is different, we showed at the airport, and CS called us, my partner answered first and was informed that we had a 4 hr seat, delay at the airport, so they gave him "us" a 4 hr later show time. He said fine I'll let the crew know.

When I came back to the gate, he informed me of the change.

I said BS! Show time was 15 minutes ago when we got to the gate, mind that we had a MYR-BWI-LAS ahead of us.
This 4 hrs, would have reset our duty time.

It took us, both more than two hrs and countless phone tries to CS, to have them start the duty time at our schedule/actual time changed back.

Lucky you were able to get someone on the phone in two hours. Took me over an hour to call in sick. Tell the scheduler "My duty time started at XXXX, plan accordingly".

I love it!, gave up on calling to chk in, I usually get the call around dep time. I wonder what would happen if you do the same when you are sick!

CS- "Pilot xxxxx where are you?"
Pilot- "home sick"
CS- "you didn't call"
Pilot-" I tried, the whole dpt was busy"
CP- " you are a disappointment".
Pilot- "can't ever do anything right"
Dr Phil- " are you stupid"
Your wife- " are you getting fired?"

Cheers.

I wasn't talking about deliberately delaying a flight. I was talking about taking risks because of rushing, i.e. missing things.

Nice! but you missed one...

ALPA - We will get your job back (to the maximum extent possible). Expect to hear from us in 90-120 days. Btw - don't worry about the dues we will lose while you are out, we'll get it back.

I believe that if you were a recurrent problem child, charges should double, but first time offenders should just breeze through, like our current judicial end penal system.

What was the "talent" experience this time around?
Best luck.
Thank you for posting.

Experience was well rounded with 135 and 121 experience. It was clear that more than half of the pilots who traveled to interview lived in the cities which are current bases. Major change was the 10-12 normal pilots called to interview increased to 19. The end result was the 8-10 that were offered a slot. So the standard 80-90% acceptance rate was closer to 50-60%. If that is the future that is fine but pilots who travel to FLL should understand the past might have been changed.

Clearly the next few interviews will show if this was a blip. Maybe it is a case of Spirit trying to look as many as possible prior to Delta, AA, UAL and Airways really starting to hire.

Everyone at Spirit was great and I think the future is bright. I am disappointed in the result but understand with the solid talent pool avail to Spirit that they can be picky to the highest degree. I still enjoyed the process and hope in 6 months I can obtain another opportunity to apply.

They need to have an automated system answer, you enter your employee number, and get put in the queue. That way you can avoid all the "this is capt/FO so-and-so employee number blah blah blah" they already know who you are when they finally pick up. I don't know man, growing pains?? Also, what a colossal waste of nice printer paper with the nonsense NOTAMS. They tout a 'green' airline with efficient motors, but kill a tree a day with releases. I use FlightPlan.com app to get the WX and NOTAMS pertinent to MY flight only. And it's spot on with the info on the 60 pages of BS you have to sift through (and the important crap is highlighted in red)
