There's a reason many of our pilots don't bother with posting on any message boards.
I have a "non-conforming opinion around here" does that make me automatically a member of the regime?

Why do you bother posting on message boards?

Truly the alpa way. Reps need to answer 200 different calls on a semi-regular basis, instead of putting out 1 semi-regular email.

I am in 77 and have not seen the e-mail announcing or explaining why he is resigning. I did get the "you must be present to vote" nonsense e-mail. What year is this? Has technology not advanced enough that we can't vote from afar? The majority of us do not live in Vegas. The organization should change the bylaws if that is what is holding us back.

I've determined the real reason is most can't read.

I don't get the "forcing to close" the Spirit Board actions, I don't know why this happened, I hope for many of my co-workers mental sanity that somebody tells them what happened.

I hope that if ALPAs was involved they are transparent and give a reason to its members, on the other hand, can the Spirit Board members open a new board?....So they can go exercise their God Chuck Norris given freedom to say what they want and fantasied about Boogie men or whatever is it that they do. Please.

I smell a rat. As a matter of fact I have been smelling it for a while. The majority of the 077 is effectively locked out of the vote. Why couldn't there be concurrent meetings if physical presence is required?

What a dirty trick Tony! You are still the Chair till you resign right?

I do not like the fact that 77 is having this meeting in Vegas and you have to be present to vote. I don't know what the ALPA bylaws are, but I don't like it.

However...the "election" that will be taking place in a motel conference room in Las Vegas, is only for the interim position, 5 month term.

The 3 year term vote will be by ballots, mailed to our homes. So we can all nominate and vote.

Per the email

"The ballots for the Group I new reps nominations for the term beginning March 1, 2015, and ending February 28, 2018, will mail on September 5. At the council meeting on September 23 we will be counting ballots; you do not have to be present for this process."

So the larger issue is who we elect for the full term that starts March 1.

So those of you in 77 that like to come on the boards and say how bad the MEC is, how we need a change, how it's corrupt. Well here is your chance. Announce your desire to be nominated for the full term starting in March. Realizing it's easier to just sit and complain about the current group of volunteers, because that's what they are, volunteers; change it if you don't like it.

Seconded. It's easy to snipe from the sidelines. Come forward and put your name on the ballot.

This is really great news especially with the elections coming up. Im assuming it will be limited to Spirit pilots only.
