Thank you for reading this quick reply, now back to the Skybolt channel.

Who said anything about a back to work agreement?

Don't try to misdirect. You jumped into a discussion about DFW based pilots trying to get a place to vote in DFW and associated that situation from 2007 when two Reps tried to get a "council bypass".

I'd be happy to use quick replies, but complicated issues can't be dealt with with one short sentence.

Back to your assertion that a bypass could have "very easily been there".

You're just wrong.

Gaining "council bypass" would have required a MEC Policy Manual update, a MEC Meeting to vote the update in or out, and agreement among the MEC members to include the language. One of the reasons Spirit people still carry a grudge against the 109 Capt Rep was because he didn't back down. You may think that gaining bypass would have been easy, but he wasn't going to back down and give them something as long as they kept up a personal battle. They choose to fight their personal battles vs find a way to make peace and do their Council's business. It wasn't going to be "very easily been there" for the same reason that people still hate Law, he was tough to deal with and he wasn't going to give them anything. Right or wrong, that was the way it was.

Sorry to actually try to give full explanations of these issues, but no one is forcing anyone into logging in and reading. I'm sure that you can just put me on your ignore list if you'd like.

added. Don't worry, when I get over this respiratory virus, I'll leave you guys alone.

Flaw in my logic??? Ok, whatever you say. You're entitled to your opinion, regardless if we agree...as am I.

No, I'm not in a position to judge whether the NC has the proper members. Are you? Let's not forget, I'm not the one complaining about the NC representation and the conspiracies within.
Neither one of us are in a position to judge whether or not the NC has the proper members unless you happen to be on the MEC.

But, can we stick to the topic? We're discussing how an MEC does business, IIRC, you are of the opinion that roll call is not the best way and that the majority coalition shouldn't get it's way just because it's larger.
I used the recent NC selection as an example of the larger coalition getting its way just because it is bigger and now you want to change sides. How about a little consistency?

If you feel that the outnumbered MEC members should get their way, how can you defend the fact that the 109 Reps (outnumbered 4 to 2) did not get their way in the recent NC member selection?
And, BTW the duly elected reps have the right to make a determination of ability for Committee members. If the 109 Reps wanted someone who are we to discount their choice?

I doubt that it matters to you, but I'm not arguing who should be on the NC. I'm arguing how the MEC does business. I don't hold the NC responsible for anything, I hold the MEC responsible for everything. Because they are.

I said something about the btw agreement. No misdirect, parallel situations that you took opposite sides of. I assume you're not too happy about the "no man's land" statement put out by the other administration, knowing it would have been easily fixed with foresight. They didn't mention that option, nor did the MEC chair in question mention how easy it would have been to change the policy he waved in front of us. Had the MEC agreed to allow by-pass it could have been done via conference call in a few minutes. He hid behind a paper (literally) tiger. Sure enough, most members in the room didn't know any better and took his word for it.

Total SPA ALPA membership = O
Subset that know about this issue = o
Subset of those with enough knowledge of ALPA procedure to call BS = .

Bottom line: DBags from 109 froze out 18 back then, now DBags in LAS are freezing out DFW. I don't think an officer complacent in the 1st part should be complaining about the DBags of the second part. He lost his b1tching rights. When will the 77 on 77 violence end???

No it's just the same 3-4 guys bittching about things that happened literally 8 years ago and the arguing about who is recounting the history correctly. It's over! Done! It's 2014 and the big three are making up to 35% more than much of the spirit pilot group counting retirement and delta is seeking even more money at the same time as us which could put is more than 50% behind.

It's embarrassing to read this thread. It's not about what happened in 2006 or 2010 or who is 26% or who is a socialist or who is fighting for power. It's about unity! Now stop acting like a bunch 16 year old girls bad mouthing each other's outfits and start acting like a unified group.

More money, more retirement, more time off, REAL LTD, job protection (SCOPE!). You all can get behind those things right? Now keep your eye on the prise and stop this nonsense. It's toxic.
