Spirit of NKS

Regardless of my and Rams running battle over what happened 7 years ago and why, you guys would be well advised to listen to him on this.
He isn't living in the past when he warns to not relive history, he's trying to help you avoid repeating history. Simply because the same guys are still in control of the negotiations, and I don't mean the members of the NC.
All of you new(er) guys expect that you will get a huge raise if we can just be "unified". Well Ram and I know that the last time we were "unified", the raise wasn't very big at all, maybe not even bigger than what it replaced. You can bury your head in the sand all you want while you wish everyone would just get along, but getting along won't get you the raise you expect without a leadership team in place to take advantage of that unity.

Does anyone know what discount, if any, we get through Sprint? ESS used to have all that info, but I can't find anything among all that black and yellow.

Ok, that may be true. However, during C2010 negotiations Spirit was still a private company, the books weren't open, financials weren't where they are now, and the negotiating environment was significantly different than it is currently/ will be next year.

But that's not really the point here, the point is that nothing has changed with the underlying structure of SPA ALPA and that worries some of us, even those of us with vastly different views of the past.

I'm most certainly not trying to speak for Ram. I'll just speak for me and say this: how much more leverage do we have now than when we had the company by the gonads, shut totally down with a strike?

How about:
1) 15% 401K contribution... not matching
2) pay equality with other airbus carriers
3) SCOPE!
4) Merger protection
5) No trip averaging.
6) 6 hour min day
Any other ideas?

Best not the bargain on the internet but 16% retirement contribution is the new standard. Deltas 15% is one cycle behind like our 9% match.

Guess Bowland and Robinson must be worried by sending out such a slanderous email this morning! Shameful!

All true...
Fellow Council 77 Pilots,
Jxxx and I were glad to hear from our fellow candidates recently. Rxxx and Jxxxx agree that unity among our pilot group and those that represent the pilots is a key contract element. This is something we previously stated and can all agree on!
However, where we disagree with Rxxx and Jxxxx on unity is the “walk”, and not the “talk”.
Let's keep in mind one big fact. Rxxx, the current Secretary-Treasurer of LEC 77 and Captain Rep candidate, is one of the elected officers responsible for scheduling, organizing and presiding over Council meetings. Yet, despite many requests, he and the current LEC status representatives have failed to give a constitutionally (neither ALPA Constitution and By-Laws nor the Spirit Airlines ALPA Policy Manual) based answer to our request for a DFW meeting. Also they have done nothing to address the exclusion of DFW pilots from the interim voting to be held in Las Vegas on September 23rd. He has simply not addressed the requests by DFW-based pilots to hold a split meeting and voting in DFW, specifically allowed per the Constitution and Bylaws Article 3 Section 3 Paragraph B (page 27 of the ALPA Constitution and By-Laws dated June 20, 2013):
“The following shall be complied with during Local Council meetings: where applicable, due to the size of the Council, or availability of membership, and in order to allow the maximum number of members to attend a meeting, the meeting may be divided into two (2) or more sessions.”
I have written a letter to ALPA Membership Administration, simply asking for what the dues paying membership is entitled to have, a VOICE.
To truly bring unity to our Council 77, one that has two bases separated by nearly 1,000 nautical miles, the current Secretary-Treasurer must demand a split meeting. This meeting would ALLOW THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF MEMBERS TO ATTEND and for all the pilots in 77 to have a voice. Rest assured that if elected for the full term position, I will ensure that each base in LEC 77 has an equal say by always holding split meetings, as called for in the ALPA Constitution and By-Laws.
Do not allow them to confuse the reality of the situation, the reality is the sitting Secretary-Treasurer of Council 77 is separating LAS pilots from DFW pilots. By not allowing a split meeting, they are not following our Constitution and By-laws but with our work the By-laws SHALL be complied with to the benefit of all!
In closing, I respectfully request that you vote for Gxxxx Axxxxxxxxx for the Interim Captain position. I've personally reached out to him and he has enthusiastically agreed to run for the interim position until the permanent term starting in March 2015, for which I humbly ask your nomination. I am not running for the interim position, vacated by Txxxx Wxxxx resignation, due to prior important commitments I need to fulfill until December.
Thank you for your vote of confidence. If you have questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact us.
