And where are you hearing this? My understanding is that no 319 is leaving. 1 will be used as spare. This should not change things for us. The way they are deferring sometimes 10+ items I bet there is a plane sitting in MX all the time already. Now they will call it spare.

Aren't they running on reduced utilization already? The planes are not flying 24 hours a day, so a plane being "down" for maintenance is kind of a misnomer anyway. Meaning if one plane is down a full day, isn't there enough utilization remaining in the other aircraft to absorb this?

I am keeping some stats on utilization based on the bid packages. Utilization was insane during this Summer. July hit 14.95h per day, per plane. This is only as acurate as the bid package is. August was 13.52h. To me it seems they are following the usual seasonal fluctuation. Low 12s off season, mid 13s high season. 14+ was a spike and I don't know how to interpret it.

Dont get all caught up in the rumor mill, its simply not true. Do I think that these new aircraft will immediately be flown at 14+ hours per day, no. I would expect a gradual build up in the schedule next year as we increase the fleet, while at the same time catch up on some mx for the 319's.

Hard to say who's taking the call, if it is like the last call (MAY-APR), we wont know till mid OCT, either way still good news, I was hoping for a few more, but still good news. This could just be the start of a trend for 2010, it would be nice to see our BROS and SIS back at the SALT MINE.

As for Sandi, i think she still is around.

Cheers.

Default looking for an old friend

Any of you Spirit fellas know of a guy who works there, a captain I think. Named Angelo, last initial F (won't print last name for privacy reasons). But he's a real great guy to work with. Around 6', 200lbs or so. I used to pull gear for him at ORD on the Shorts 360.
thanks,
chuck

I am just hearing now that it is going "senior". It will not even go as deep as it did last time.
