I am so close from being recalled. If they trade in the last A321s for the new A320s, I am going to loose it.

Default Fight for the Carribean

I am furloughed Spirit, and I was just wondering what everyone thought about all the attention the Carribean is getting especially out of Orlando? JetBlue is announcing more flights to and from, and now airTran is doing the same. I know we are trying to aquire Air Jamaica (supposedly) but do you think we will be able to hold our own amongst this competition. I personally feel we missed an opportunity not taking the aircraft and uping ops out of Orlando.

Orlando is a totally different market than FLL. I say let Airtran and Jetblue fight it out up there, meanwhile we will continue to fill our aircraft on the Orlando flights we already have. NK is enjoying success in the Carribean markets out of FLL, but our focus is south of there if you havent noticed

Went thru FLL Saturday, sat there for 4 hrs, MTX. But we got to talk to 7 mechanics, and they said that we were doing "pre-buy" inspections on 5 A-320's from Air J.

I don't know if it is to asses the A/C value or the Company value in general for a possible offer. Who knows.

Also, they are getting very anxious about the training of crew members before the A-320's get here, they don't want a bottle neck effect with recurrent at the same time.

But then again our training dpt. is going thru some changes, insecurities, new ideas, old ideas and lots of EGO.

I would not be surprise to see some of our buddies back en DEC. So I HOPE. So BUBI can keep his sanity.

Cheers.

I looked at the current seniority list. Looks like 13 FOs took the voluntary furlough. Does anyone know if any of those guys plan on coming back?

Its hard to tell, but some guys are going to the Middle East, on a contract basis, I can only assumed that some may not come back for a while, how many, nobody knows.

Keep your chin up, time are changing, I like to think for the best!!

Cheers.
