OFFICIALLY, from PO bullet points a few weeks ago, 1 in March(601NK), 1 in April(602NK). He has not said OFFICIALLY when the other two are scheduled for delivery.

UNOFFICIALLY, 1 more in May and 1 more in Sept. In talking with a few guys that spend some time in Mirimar it seems the company is still looking for additional airframes, maybe one from Air Jam??? I have heard 26 recalls effective March 1st, not sure how many for April.

The first class will prob start in Jan. Bid will be effective March 1st, thus those returning are back on line March 1st. Its up to the training dept to decide how many classes they need in order to get all the guys on line by March 1st.

Anyone have any info on the timeline for our release from arbitration? Lots of rumors about recalls, but I'm not hearing much about the looming 30-day cooling off period.

to use the term "looming" would lead me to believe that you thought that we were released from arbitration by the NMB. This is not the case. We are in exactly the same position we have been. Our Union is taking strides to put pressure on the company that will either get them to be more serious in negotiations (see our side of things more clearly) or get us a release by asking the NMB to offer a proffer of arbitration. If the NMB offers this proffer then you could say that a 30 day cooling off period would be looming.

Any idea how many crews you operate per airplane? 5 or 6?

According to APC there are 441 active pilots / 28 planes is about 7.9 crews per plane.

No one knows the exact timeline on this, since it's unlikely the mediator has even had a chance to give his opinion to the Nat'l Med. Board. Given my knowledge (read lack-thereof) of this process, don't expect to hear anything yay/nay on the a release for a couple of months. The NMB is not known for their expedience; we saw this at a previous airline I worked for.

Keep in mind that we don't yet know if the mediator will even RECOMMEND our release to the board, although in conversations with those that are close to the neg. process it sounds as if he's pretty frustrated with the company and their attorneys. IF he does recommend our release (likely), then the NMB then makes the decision to release us or not. It is NOT entirely up to our mediator to release us or not; he may only offer his recommendation.

IF the NMB gives us a release, they will set the clock for the 30-day cooling off period. That may not come immediately; it would probably be set for some later date.

My opinion is that the union did this intentionally. The airplanes that are set to be delivered next spring are probably already partially paid for. If I know strategy, I'd want the 30-day window to close the day after the first airplane hits company property.

According to someone working in Miramar, the recall for March will be small and the one for April will be larger. Management is apparently changing their numbers every week. You get the idea...

I just learned also that someone above me got a class date for Etihad so I would assume other pilots will jump ship...

One key point I missed: in order to start the 30-day cooling off period, the company would first have to refuse the NMBs offer of binding arbitration. This is almost a given, since neither side truthfully wants a third-party arbitrator deciding on our labor contract (whatever side of that agreement you're on). If/when the company refuses this "proffer", then the NMB would set the 30-day window.
