Let's be honest, how does the policy really affect us anyway? When asked by a fueler at the end of duty day, I say no. He can wait for the next crew or maintenance. If there are extenuating circumstances that require me to stay for an extra few minutes, then I'm happy to help out, because taking care of the pax is the ultimate goal. During a turn, the fueler can wait until we are back from getting food, using a restroom that is not covered in **** or stretching our legs for a few minutes. If you feel trapped, that's your own doing.

If flights ever start to leave late due to the policy, it will change. Personally, I have never had a flight leave late due to fueling and I have only been asked to stay behind once in a 1.5 years. So it's really more of just a novel rule than anything.

I hope that doesn't sound too harsh, I wouldn't want MS to have to write another diatribe.
Right on! If you dont want to sit in the airplane and refuel when your supposed to leave to the hotel, then dont. Leave. Tell the fueler guy, NO.
we got bigger fish to fry up then fueling stuff.

yeah until your Captain/FO says to the fueler "ok sure" and you are stuck waiting for him in the terminal before you can get on the hotel shuttle after a red-eye. .

What is going on with hotels not booked, vans not set up for pick up, wrong hotel reservation. It keeps happening over and over. Am I delusional or this is happening to everyone else also?

We had a driver who took us to the wrong hotel a few weeks ago in Tampa, but I believe it was the driver's fault.
I haven't had any other issues with hotel and/or bus.

Question for Spirit guys. Say you list for the OAL/non-rev link on Spirit's website for a flight. You check in at the airport and check your free bag. On the plane, all seats fill up and you have to sit up front in the FD jumpseat. Will the checked bag still travel when you are physically in the jumpseat?

Also, I know the 320 has 1 jumpseat for you and the 319 has 2. Probably a no, but if that is filled can a OAL pilot sit in the FA jumpseat?

Thanks!

1) The checked bag should travel. I've done this before while occupying the actual jumpseat.

2) Per the most recent FOM revision, OAL pilots are no longer permitted on the FA jumpseat. Our A320's don't have an extra FA jumpseat anyway. A319's have one.

This is all b/c the F/A manual didn't allow it, and the AFA told the Spirit pilots "if pilots get to occupy the F/A jumpseat, then we should be able to occupy the pilot jumpseat".

Well, that's what I was told. If so, I'm wondering who is the weak sister that let the AFA castrate our PIC authority.
