The point was if someone is going to come on here and lecture us, you would think it would be from someone who has a stellar contract, like a FedEx or Delta guy, not a retired Alaska pilot.
You weren't there for the strike. What have I done? I voted yes to ALPA, contrary to your belief. That's a start. I don't see what lecture you are referring to. What he said was low labor cost is a part of the ULCC model. There are only 2 ULCC carriers in the U.S., Spirit and Frontier and it speaks for itself. Ditto for Europe's largest ULCC carrier EasyJet.

We absolutely need our compensation to come up but to have someone from VA roll their eyes at our contract ****es me off.
You misread what I wrote. I rolled my eyes at you trying to call out an Alaska pilot for precisely what you are accusing me of. It doesn't work because Alaska is not on the same tier as Spirit.

F9s payrates/contract was in place long before they transitioned to "ULCC". I'm also willing to bet the average Spirit pilot probably makes more and blocks less than the average VA guy. So contrary to what you're staying, it appears our ULCC group is compensated more than whatever hybrid title VA gives themselves.

What "Teir" is Alaska in? They have a recent contract that is not all that impressive. They ratified it recently during the peak of airline profits.

Before you continue to cast stones let's see what our next contract brings

Totally agree with you!! Our hourly rate (retirement, LTD, rig, etc) does need to come up, but hourly rate isn't the whole equation.

With those kinda bets, I hope you don't play the lottery because you wouldn't win. Blocks less yeah, makes more is inaccurate.

Don't you mean "Bloch", not "Block". You should always have to spell the word "block," "Bloch"

Hahaha

Can anyone tell me where I can find the list of job fairs that Spirit will be attending this year? I know about Aerocrew but beyond that I have no clue.
