Why anybody would even consider coming to this place as it stands right now baffles me. You are doing yourself a MAJOR disservice.
I'm sure he already applied to legacy. Year 2 FO is somewhat close to regional CA pay. There are also hundreds if not thousands of 10-20 year regional captains who all thought they would get a legacy call 5-15 years ago. Why gamble and risk being at the regionals for 20-30 years. It's baffles me anyone would turn down the job at Spirit to stay in the path of the regional whipsaw.

Believe me, the novelty of escaping the regional whipsaw and moving on to an airline that sells its own tickets wears off quickly once you realize how disgustingly underpaid you are when compared to your peers. Bitterness sets in quickly.

Listen up applicants, there are a lot of great people here-I love my work family;BUT there are other great groups out there. Almost every other airline out there has a new agreement except Spirit, Frontier, and Hawaiian that I know of. Nearly everyone pays more than here and most likely will for quite awhile. If your dream is to fly for Spirit-well come on-if your aviation dream includes more than the lowest pay and retirement-well you need to do yourselves and your families a giant favor and look elsewhere. Management is dead set on stretching this out to the last minute and that could take years!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

People stay at regionals to get slots at legacies. PSA/ENVOY/PIEDMONT pilots all get guaranteed slots at American. Not an interview or screening-a spot in a ground school class-that has real value. They are also getting higher pay and retention bonuses-they make as much as a Spirit FO does easily. A $15k bonus is the same as 16.66/hr on a 75 hour guarantee. That makes even DASH 8 pilots at Piedmont making more their first year than the first year at Spirit.

It's got to be better than sitting hot reserve for 8 hours in Ohio.

Depends on what you will get if you stick at the airline you're at-and how old you are. My guess is that you won't be doing that for very long.

I have attended a job fair applied and or updated my app 3 times taking the assessment 3 times, have several internal letter of recommendations and yet I still cannot seem to get a call for spirit. What more does it take? Any advice and or tips would be appreciated.

Have your internal recs email Sandi F. on your behalf.

Or hold out for the better paying gigs (Delta, Southwest, United, AA, etc.)
