Can anyone explain the detail needed to be prepared for systems? I am already studying a month before my class date but I want to maximize my time so I show up ahead of the game.

Unless they changed the sim lessons, day 3 was single engine stuff (lots of V1 cuts), and day 4 is a mock ride (more practice with cuts). I guess I peaked at the right time.....
My memory might be foggy but I don't remember a mock checkride. Everyday was checking boxes (see something once and never again), then take a type. I passed and executed pretty dang well but it was the most unprepared I've ever felt before a type.

Do not bother with detail until you have the flows, memory items and limitations memorized.

Flows, Flows, Flows.
Memory items and limitations.
There will be a lot of people sharing dropbox which have the old limitations which are good to know but during your check ride, you'll be required to know the bold items in COM 1 which were just recently changed with the upcoming arrival of the new NEOs.
If you go in on day one having these down, you will be ahead of the game.
Welcome aboard.

I would show up knowing the flows for both seats, CA & FO, as you'll actually take your ride in the left seat as well as doing half your work in the right seat. Know the memory items, there are only 5, and the bolded limitations. That would put you ahead of probably 80% of the class on day one.

If you have any specific questions feel free to PM. Welcome!

Brainscape is a great flashcard app. Search for "Spirit Airlines Fall 2015" and "Spirit Oral Study Guide." Those should give you good info, including all bolded (required) limitations and memory items.

Disclaimer: I do not recommend this, but just to illustrate a point...

You could show up day one of training not having looked at any systems and still be ok.

Show up to day one of training not knowing any flows, and you might be re-polishing your resume within a week.

Learn the flows.

In your opinion what makes the training at Spirit the toughest Besides it being a compressed program with only 4 sims? Is it having to know all of the FO and captain flows and responsibilities?

Training is not tough if you stay focused and work hard and understand that you will eat, sleep, and dream Airbus for that time. Guys that have the problems are usually the ones who spend too much time by the pool and treating it as a mini vacation. You will recognize these guys because they will be the ones say "Man, relax...you are taking this too seriously."

These are the ones who have had issues in initial and usually are the same that bust out up upgrade.

The training department wants you to succeed and will do everything they can to help those who are working hard.

Thanks Juice! this may sound crazy but for anyone trying to learn AB flows, the iPad simulator Aerofly has a very detailed 3D Airbus cockpit and it seems to give a more realistic feel than a paper tiger. I use both but if you are on a long leg or only have your iPad with you it's a great way to study. You can even practice flows from both seats with this app
