If we were truly only $47mil from the company's proposal we have real problems yes.
The issue with putting out the unions position to the group is it gets guys negotiating in public which can compromise our position, but that's already happened with the company's side being published which is why I wonder it was put out. Not to mention that they are probably bound by non disclosure agreements so it must have been done with the company's permission. That means it has to be part of a bigger strategy by the company that we (our negotiators) fell victim to. I'm interested to know why it was put out. Get the foil hats ready.

I think it is amazing this Captain did this for his passengers. And it is 5 days in the future. Wish I could have a time machine for Christmas too.
Sounds fishy too me.

Ding, ding, ding!
Unless the union can counter this very reasonable assumption (i.e., that the unuion's demand was actually rather "close" to the company's offer), then I believe it's time to retool.
And one way to counter this assumption is for the union to show the pilots their demand to company. Given that the union showed us the company's offer, I can't think of a good reason why the union shouldn't also disclose its demand. It's not like the company's going learn any secrets. Short of that, how about at least some substantive guidance from the union. So far, it's just been deafening silence.

Anybody seen the Januray LAS lines? They're bad... Like really bad.. Like regional bad. 13/14 days off, 72 hours credit bad. Time to reevaluate our "amazing" work rules.

The whole system is like that. As for the coffee, it is probably true. If it was the captain for 731 today 12/10 he is a really nice guy and it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I definetly do not want to give up our transition language now. I was neutral before I did the math. I went back through 2015 in crew trac and counted at least 24 days dropped due to the transition language. I am junior in my base and didn't always try to bid for a conflict. At min 4 hours a day that is an extra 96 hours of pay. Plus I sometimes got a JA during those extra days off.

Min 6 hours per calendar day.
Min days off Line Holder -16
Min days off Reserve -15
Maybe I will consider giving up for a different transition.

Lots of people complain that having a crashpad in Chicago sucks, and if they're located off of the Cumberland stop, they're generally correct.
Take some effort to find a crashpad slightly deeper in on the Blue Line; Jefferson Park, Logan Square, California. So that way if you have to sit in a crashpad at least you're doing so in a vibrant neighborhood with plenty of activities.
Also, get yourself a Ventra card. Chicago has one of the best public transportation systems in the country; the Ventra card will make accessing it that much easier.
