Spirit of NKS, Part II

The old survey data is stale. It needs to be updated. considering other airlines gains since we began early opener talks the price of what this group will find to be equitable has all but guaranteed to have increased. There was also plenty in that "supposal" that didn't address other necessities that need to changed in section 6. Trip/daily rigs. Higher min day. Block or better, red eye override. Etc. these are all things that have a tangible effect on our earnings and productivity while at work.

There's absolutely no excuse that early opener talks have been stretched out to this point. It's been a joint failure of the MEC chairman and the NC committee.

Maximum amount of money (per W2 & retirement) and preserve our work rules as best you can.
That's it. It's not rocket science

I'm well aware how much we are losing. This is a management team that will ensure these negotiations get dragged out as much as possible. Don't expect a quick contract. For this exact reason we should open the contract and get something that's well rounded and one we can live with. Because it'll likely be a few years regardless. Where have "focused" negotiations gotten us so far?

Pushed the starting line back.

I hung up on the call as soon as I heard we are only negotiating based off the average of the 7 airlines and not including the legacy carriers. What the heck!? And in the next breath they said we don't want to manage expectations but if that's a bi product then so be it.
Contrast that so how Southwest negotiating their contract... They included AA,DL and UA and said they deserve MORE than the legacy 737 drivers because the legacy guys have the ability to move up in equipment (ie pay) which isn't available to Southwest pilots so they needed to have HIGHER than legacy 737 drivers to compensate!
That's how it's done guys. Why in the heck would we remove the 3 best paying carriers from our average?!
You're not gonna find a better reason to polish up your apps boys. The writing is clearly on the wall now.
