Interesting day in FLL today so far... A bunch of cancellations because the red eyes all diverted because of the fog. Crews are timing out left and right.

Well look at it this way, it takes 1500 to get on with a regional, when you get to 2000, I doubt many, if any has upgraded to have any turbine pic time. That's probably their intention, get low time pilots in with no pic time trapping them for at least a few years. Sure the legacies are hiring without pic, but those guys typically have 5000+ hours.
These folks are probably more likely to vote yes too, since they're only competitive at another regional if it doesn't work out or furloughed.

When I went to the NK job fair in 2011, the FO I talked to had only been at Spirit for 6 months. One would think someone would at least be off probation before being able to represent the company in a role as big as this.

For once I don't understand why Shyguy is getting blasted? I can see the reason in many other posts but this one has no reason to be shot down. Why can't he make an opinion here on a public forum? Everyone else does it..

When are you guys going to realize there is almost zero chance attrition alone will make the company negotiate.
It only works if the cost to replace becomes too high and as long as there are regional FO's lining up its not going to happen. Yes a regional FO will take a pay cut to come here but pilots don't care about that. They see the second year pay as break even and Spirit as a good place to park until a United calls.
Only if 20 guys a month leave will this place even bat an eye.
What is the attrition at Ryan Air? 20+ month and they just build that cost in their model. I'm guessing our training budget could be doubled and the BOD still wouldn't say anything.
If there are zero apps then we can make hay out of attrition. And the only way to do that is to convince the regional guys not to apply. How you do that is up to you.
