You DFW guys better take warning. According to "Skubajet" IN Reference to the WSJ article putting AA in last place for 2015. We are going to be "CRUSHED!!!!" lol.

I've become so cynical id almost welcome $150 oil again

CLT - AA owns it (HUGE money maker with high yields)
DCA - AA largest presence there (very high yields in this base)
JFK/LGA - almost as large as DAL
BOS - decent size (especially now with LGA/DCA shuttle operation)
MIA - AA owns it
ORD - a little smaller than UAL
DFW - AA owns it (currently has plans to crush Spirit's operation there)
LAX - one of biggest carriers and our CEO announced plans to be biggest carrier there eventually
PHX - AA biggest carrier there I believe (SWA is other big carrier there)

By "owning it" I mean has a majority of gates/flights/feeder flights.

The AA network/route structure is HUGE with many of our domiciles as "owned" bases. If I were a betting man, I'd say that our company's future is not in jeapordy.

You use that term very loosley, and apparently have zero understanding of the pain and havoc scabs have reaped on pilots and their families. Comparing a line pilot volunteering at a job fair to crossing a picket line is not even close to reasonable.

All of that hubris in that post by Skubajet and that's the statement that got you to respond?

If a majority of AA feels this confident in the face of negative performance facts then they will be less motivated to change anything since they already "own" it.

Why would I concern myself with his opinion on MIA, PDX, CLT or any other place that Spirit doesn't go to?

At what point does our new CEO give JB and JS their walking papers. Some of us might be more willing to help out in these weather recoveries if these two jokers were interested in negotiating a real contract. Until then I don't care too much.

All I know is as long as Jyri continues to spout his bs at job fairs and recurrent classes that we are not worth the same as other pilots at other airlines and we don't need to drive the nicest car or have the nicest watch, and Bendo continues to low ball our pilot group with laughable cost neutral contracts, then I have ZERO motivation to help the operation in any way. I will fly safe, and only fly the contract. No 117 extensions period. Etc etc. if they don't believe in our worth, then it is up to us as a group to show them our worth.

Are you assuming that JB and JS were in charge of the outcome of contract negotiations? I'll stake my next pay check on this: JB and JS are negotiators, but not deal makers. Those two answer to the CEO and BOD and probably to Ford and Harrison regarding amending the CBA.

Just because our negotiators have apparently been given "deal maker" status by our MEC, doesn't mean the Spirit BOD gave such status to JB and JS. I'm quite certain that they don't agree to anything that the CEO/BOD has not approved in advance.

If JB and JS were not following the CEO/BOD's direction, they would have been replaced months or years ago.

Fornaro may well send them packing, but I seriously doubt that the reason would be because they failed to give us what we want.

As far as helping out goes, we should all do our job as professionally as possible. I choose to define such as, following the procedures set forth by the company. Nowhere do I see any procedure for putting on my hat for: dispatch, scheduling, fueling, release generation, etc. Once I realized that the company is following a specific business model and what that model entailed, my level of frustration went way down. IOW, if they aren't worried about operational issues out of the cockpits control, neither do I worry about them. Besides, I have enough trouble keeping my job done, without trying to do everyone else's.
