It's ironic, but I have a feeling a lot of airline CEOs are irrationally rooting for an economic downturn so they can get lower demand for pilots. This really is a feast or famine industry. I hope the management teams are grateful for what they have right now and are planning for the worst or it's going to get ugly in a hurry.

I only ask because it seems that every one of your posts is negative about how this sucks, or that sucks. Would a new contract really make you happy on these forums? Because im willing to bet youre not this unhappy at work and in life, God I hope not.

The pay tables and graphs speak for themselves especially the ones that show us against the rates with United's TA passing which it will but also luv and dal passing TAs they rejected by large margins. Those charts will actually have an even larger disparity in a short time.
The last three bullet points on page one are huge. Our retirement is substantially underfunded because we have a match and the fact that it's limited to $18k (under 50 years old).
What would you do tomorrow if you lost your medical? Sure would be nice to know that you'd have 60% of your pay coming for the rest of your working life and that you could live.
I think I finally convinced myself to update my airline apps. I've been holding onto a base I live in and that does have value but not as much as shown in this comparison. No way I'm going back to commuting long term so we'll just have to move. Hopefully spirit can get this right sooner rather than later.

These people usually start of by saying something like "Yeah, but our work rules are so much......"
Thats when I realize they are uninformed.

Are those DAL numbers really legit? Seems ridiculous, even with double the expected retirements.

I hope so, but if guys now don't know/realize how much lower paid we are vs our peers, they will never know or even care to know.

For these reasons it may continue to get very, very junior. My best guess is at least half our new hires in the last two years have transferred out west. So, anyone still close to NYC and willing to drive or commute will get it with no problems.
