Unfortunately, only when training costs become more expensive than paying you what your worth will you get a good contract. I hope that happens sooner than later.

It's ironic, but I have a feeling a lot of airline CEOs are irrationally rooting for an economic downturn so they can get lower demand for pilots. This really is a feast or famine industry. I hope the management teams are grateful for what they have right now and are planning for the worst or it's going to get ugly in a hurry.

This place officially has practically nothing to offer.

Where's our Contract
Vegas, I agree that things need to improve, but are you always this unhappy or is this just a forum "need to rant" kind of thing.

I only ask because it seems that every one of your posts is negative about how this sucks, or that sucks. Would a new contract really make you happy on these forums? Because im willing to bet youre not this unhappy at work and in life, God I hope not.

The pay tables and graphs speak for themselves especially the ones that show us against the rates with United's TA passing which it will but also luv and dal passing TAs they rejected by large margins. Those charts will actually have an even larger disparity in a short time.

The last three bullet points on page one are huge. Our retirement is substantially underfunded because we have a match and the fact that it's limited to $18k (under 50 years old).

What would you do tomorrow if you lost your medical? Sure would be nice to know that you'd have 60% of your pay coming for the rest of your working life and that you could live.

I think I finally convinced myself to update my airline apps. I've been holding onto a base I live in and that does have value but not as much as shown in this comparison. No way I'm going back to commuting long term so we'll just have to move. Hopefully spirit can get this right sooner rather than later.

I hope so, but if guys now don't know/realize how much lower paid we are vs our peers, they will never know or even care to know.

These people usually start of by saying something like "Yeah, but our work rules are so much......"

Thats when I realize they are uninformed.

Are those DAL numbers really legit? Seems ridiculous, even with double the expected retirements.

Clearly you're not flying in the right base. I hear it more often than not. Some say it just because they are in denial and maybe tied to this horse. Others are uninformed and then a large number simply just don't value themselves as professionals. A small number actually think spirit can't survive if we get an industry leading contract. An even smaller number think it's greedy. It's not greedy if it's what your profession pays. It's fair. Life isn't fair I know. Save it.

Very legit. The main reason it went so low is because it's NYC MD88. Highly uncommutable and we are co-domiciled at all three NYC airports. The second reason...well, it's the 88.

For these reasons it may continue to get very, very junior. My best guess is at least half our new hires in the last two years have transferred out west. So, anyone still close to NYC and willing to drive or commute will get it with no problems.
