It's BS and not legal
ref 25.M.1. schedule integrity for lineholders, and possibly not ref 25.E.2.b.1)(a) active legs will not be converted to DH to accommodate a 29/7 conflict (weaker argument; that section applies to creation of next month's final schedule; argument depends on interpretation of intent).

There is no June schedule yet. I would agree with you 110% if the bids were out. I'm interested to see what happens of this.

Whether the schedules are out yet or not it's still illegal. There is no reason to switch a live leg to DH during the transition period except to skirt around the 29/7 conflict.

This is f'n ridiculous. They "modified" my last sequence in which the last day has 2 DH's out of the 4 legs. I hate DH's cus they're horribly uncomfortable. Give us a big upfront seat and maybe it'd be different.
Line holders bid the lines they want for QOL issues.
Some people don't like red eyes. They don't bid for them.
Some people don't like flying down south. They don't bid for them.
I hate dead heads. I didn't bid for any.

I get your point. However, if there are two crews due to overlapping schedules - how is that rectified? On top of that, live legs can't be changed to DH to subvert a transition conflict right? Ok. If this was done before your schedule was awarded isn't that keeping with the intent? Now, if your awarded line would have afforded you a conflict, I think there would be grounds for an NCC.

Haha..this is classic.
I've always believed that if they put a little brain power in, conflict as we know it could be changed drastically. I would expect more little tweaks like this. They can look at a schedule and know if you will probably get a 29/7 conflict. So making this little tweak before June schedules are released is sneaky...So sneaky it had to come from the top.
They want conflict/transition and they clearly have no intent in giving us a contract any time soon, so this buys them all the time they need.
Dont like deadheads? Uncomfortable and fatiguing? We have a process for that...its called calling in fatigued if you're fatigued. I dont think anyone can argue that crammed in the smallest seat in the airlines is the best way to be rested and alert for a flight. Especially when the NC is trying to secure premium seating for DHs, for that very reason, its fatiguing.

L. Multiple Bid Trips
If two or more pilots are scheduled to fly the same trip on the same day, the senior qualified pilot will have the choice of whether or not to remain on the trip. The pilot removed from the trip shall be handled as a time-available pilot under Section 25.I and be paid in accordance with Section 4.C or 4.D.1 and .2.

Pfffff, every reserve assignment out of ACY is like a 6 day trip. Day one and day 6 are usually double deadheads or 3hr rides to BWI.
This is why I drop every middle day. I'd rather lose a grand a month than deal with this type of stuff.
Are they changing everyone who has a trip that goes into June from active to Deadhead or just a few?
