Spirit of NKS, Part II

I feel like I got screwed too. And this time by a handful of my fellow pilots too. I can't say I'm not disappointed.
It's okay. Outcomes matter but so does the process. We can continue to pressure our leadership knowing we are not part of the problem.
As far as list go, I know why you don't like them. Honestly I don't know what to do with the info. But it's out there now. And perhaps if there ever is a strike vote those guys would get a little special tracking. Not sure. I'm spit balling here.

Life is just too short to put yourself through that kind of stress, when the majority are just going to keep on doing their thing and don't really care about a list one way or the other.
Let the MEC call the shots, run for Status rep when the time comes. I'll vote for you.
I hope everybody has a safe and LAZY summer!
Low Tier = Low Stress!
No worries, mon!
Not my job? Not my problem!

Oh. And the company that liked bad publicity is gone. The new Spirit is hypersensitive to needless bad publicity. It's one of the new guys big pushes.

The school systems will be your biggest issue. In a word, Florida's public school system flat out suuuuuucks. There are good ones out there, but they're hard to find. By and large private schools are the way most of the Captains I fly with go.
Miami Lakes has a surprisingly good one, and is very family friendly. Parks EVERYwhere. Good schools and living in Boca. Coral Springs has an extremely family-friendly atmosphere, as does Weston, but you'll definitely need two cars to make it work.
Lots of guys live further north, up in Port St. Lucie and Jupiter; haven't heard any complaints from them. But it's a hike. And a half.
DelRay Beach was rated one of the best communities to live in as well by one of the major magazines. It has a great downtown "Main Street" that I'd like to check out again.
Expect to spend north of $300k to find a reasonable house or townhome in a good area. $400k opens up a lot of options that frankly would cost a lot less just about anywhere else, but you wear flip flops in February, so that helps take the sting out of it.

The argument hasn't been about weather a handful of pilots refusing extra work would be enough to bring management to the table.
It has always been clear this will take leadership from the union in order to succeed.
We need a robust and effective leadership that truest stands up for its membership. Instead we seem to have a club that is hopeful they can magically improve QOL and pay.
Of course we all know how well hoping for change has worked in the history between labor and management.
I believe if we had an effective group of leaders we could have moved management to the table in a matter of months. How?
By doing a few symbolic things, like billboards and full page newspaper ads in the south Florida papers, it would have sent management a clear message we are serious and not afraid. Secondly it would have fostered a feeling of camaraderie and esprit de corps. Third, this feeling of Union and common cause would have kept the leaches from picking up open time.
They would have know people are copying the availability list, and seen who picked up over time. And no one would have to do a thing because every would know their brothers were watching.
As it is, there was no official leadership and we found ourselves improvising and hoping everyone got the message. We had people running for the hills because arm chair lawyers on the internet told them they might get a letter from someone someday.
Anyway, in the end it fizzled out and we didn't harm anything despite what some would want you to believe.
Next time we will be better lead, I hope.

I would love to see the list, easy lawsuit to win! Just print these people on the message board boasting about it, there's the proof of defamation. Easier than JRM money. You boys want to run with the big dogs, you better learn how to **** in tall weeds!

Then again, they work for NK so they are probably judgment proof.

And yes, you succeed in showing the world how big dogs run from hard efforts. Guess this makes me a small dog. I'll live with my pride in place.
One day this will come to an end and I'll be proud of my efforts. All those that step on us, you may think no one knows. And you kind of got away with it. But you and I both know your fellow pilots don't respect you.

The only good public schools are north of west palm beach or in Boca Raton proper. Every other area of south Florida has absolutely garbage schools.

By running with the big dogs you mean stepping on others trying to accomplish a goal? Do you mean looking out for only yourself? Or perhaps you mean being scared of your shadow and never sticking my head out of the hole you dug. Well great. I'm not willing to run with this group. Yes, guys jr to me probably will make more money this month because they followed your **** poor example.

Unfortunately, now is not the time.
Will you cost the union or help it? You decide.
Fly the contract!
