Re Delta - make sure you hourly 'sweet spot' is ~7000 total hours. Greater than that, and you'll get the 'thanks but no thanks' - confirmed by a coworker who attended 5 recruiting events.

Regarding the contract negotiations - after having been through the last, trust in your MEC reps. Your expectations will be exceeded in most areas. Not all, but most. If you have any doubt direct your efforts on helping, or applying elsewhere.

I love how I was in a time where it was the worst hiring in over a decade. Post 9/11 and when the airlines started hiring again I had surpassed 7k hours a few years before. So I am penalized for continuing to work and provide for my family while no one is hiring and put myself in a position where now I have too much experience?? That is so ass backwards, I can't even describe my anger!

Well I sure hope someone would speak up and ask his reasoning to think otherwise.

Not surprising. First I had too low flight time, then 911 happened plus age 65, now I have too many hours.

I just got hired from Nk with 8600 hours. Had a guy in my class with thousands more.

I agree, the initial ask should have been more. This is just an "initial" ask. I seriously doubt that these rates will be what we see on a TA. I think this initial ask is a disappointment.
