We use our own training department which is a hell of a lot cheaper than what was quoted above.

Break it down for us a little more. What percentage of these 4 guys has an actual class date/vs an interview and with which carrier? Is this a word problem?

I doubt it's that much cheaper when you consider that the sims have to be paid for and maintained as well as pilots housed and facility rented. That's still cheaper than what it would cost for type rating alone at say simuflite or something. Although I would be curious what the actual budget breakdown would be. I'm guessing I'm not too far off.

However the other (smaller) subset of recent new hires I have no idea how they got hired here or anywhere. Some interesting characters.

We're rapidly becoming the "Land of the Misfit Toys" once again. Look at some of those at the top of the list and recognize history is once again repeating itself.

Why don't you Spirit guys consider Envoy. 60k plus first year and get to AA in less than 6 years via flow. Why not put your money where your mouth is and come on over? It's definitely a better deal than Spirit.

Not to mention, I could just go to AA directly.
