Just two days ago I was positive spaced on a flight to EWR so I could sit in the airport for 7.5 hours...
Meanwhile they had to pull somekne off the flight (already boarded) so I could get on. It's embarrassing and outrageous. No common sense.

Śm yeah, whatever. How many times was he asked nicely to get off the flight before they had to resort to this. Then you've got the dumb **** running her trap about "oh the humanity of it all". Stupid public......

The airline will never win no matter how many times they asked him nicely or were in the right. United is in for a PR nightmare with this. If it was a minority then it will be even worse.

Just curious how else could they have handled it? Are FAs and gate agents trained to elevate these issues if they get out of hand? Could they have gotten guidance from management?

How long till Delta says something about this!?

Should have let the cops do it.
I'm guessing that the guy in plain clothes was in a security capacity of some kind.

Let's hope so, for his sake.

Another self-entitled snowflake...

I don't doubt for one second that the why/how/what's next has been explained to him to a great detail, and that he was offered a pretty decent compensation for his temporary inconvenience.

Self entitled snowflake? The guy paid for his seat. Of course he's entitled, as any paying passenger would be. This is 100% on United and they deserve the PR nightmare that's about to happen. If you can't get any volunteers for $800, raise the Price until you do.

This is as embarrassing as it is shameful

From the genius blabber mouth woman narrating the event, "can't they just rent a car for the pilots and just have them drive to Louisville?" You're right. Maybe we should just all walk to work.

I don't think you'll see any blow back from Delta. They are still cancelling flights from the one day rain storm of last week.

I don't think this was handled well, but we are just seeing the last 30 seconds of what could have been hours of confrontation.

So it was actually Republic, albeit "United Express." Could United just pawn off the blame on Republic haha?

Yep... a self-entitled snowflake.

You see, there's a fine print when you buy any airline ticket on any carrier that you may get involuntarily bumped and compensated for it. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to those terms.

The #resist chicken-littles out there make it sound like a few thugs just came onboard, smashed the guy's face and then dragged him off the plane when all he simply said was no. I'm pretty sure that United CSA's explained to him the situation and then subsequently ops supervisor as well. But no one filmed that part...

Could it have been handled better? I think so... perhaps getting involuntary bumps not board in the first place? But once told you are being involuntarily bumped for compensation in accordance with terms and conditions of your ticket, and then throwing a tantrum over it delaying a flight for hours and having to get dragged off the plane.... nope, no sympathy whatsoever.
