I'd call your LEC rep as step 1. Present a motion at a meeting. Maybe you could politely call someone in hiring and start a dialogue. Probably better than an angry horde at this point.

My .02 (don't agree with hiring these guys with the supply we have) is that they are actually guinea pigs for (if) when that's all we can find. Train a few up each year and track them.

Fan club? I'm not looking for a prom date. Yes, I've winced at some of his comments. The guy shuts people down to the point they just walk away.

I've watched time and again pilots who make emotional, uneducated arguments are quickly shot down. Probably the guy on this thread who said "he's never met a concession he didn't vote for" got sent packing with a fact based rebuttal.

Pompous, arrogant, without remorse or filter? Yes. But the guy did a lot of work during some really dark times. He knows what he's talking about and he despises people who want to put their hands on our necks. That's all I'm saying.

I agree that we should hire experience since it is still available but I don’t get your LGA analogy. If not flying here after completing our training program this person would be at a regional taking United passengers into a shorter runway in the same weather, in a jet, with the same small margin for error. The captain on that flight may or may not have the experience level of those who have been flying as long as a mainline captain. There are plenty of high time applicants out there and we should be hiring them, but I don’t think that a low time pilot has a greater chance of making the news here than somewhere else.

Went through training with 2. Both rocked it. Talked to them afterward and they are doing just fine after IOE.
