My .02 (don't agree with hiring these guys with the supply we have) is that they are actually guinea pigs for (if) when that's all we can find. Train a few up each year and track them.

It is highly probable, soon, a new Captain in their first few months as a brand new first time Captain may be taking a heavy guppy into LGA in the winter with an FO with zero winter experience in a swept wing turbine powered airplane (and possibly minimal experience at that). Fan club? I'm not looking for a prom date. Yes, I've winced at some of his comments. The guy shuts people down to the point they just walk away.
I've watched time and again pilots who make emotional, uneducated arguments are quickly shot down. Probably the guy on this thread who said "he's never met a concession he didn't vote for" got sent packing with a fact based rebuttal.
Pompous, arrogant, without remorse or filter? Yes. But the guy did a lot of work during some really dark times. He knows what he's talking about and he despises people who want to put their hands on our necks. That's all I'm saying.
