Hiring to resume in earnest

But you really don't interview just like all of us that got hired off the street. You have a watered down version of the interview process that doesn't even have your performance reviewed by the full on hiring review board.
We do the same process minus the tech portion. Same hr/pilot panel interview. Our performance is reviewed rolling back 24 months from the time we get a “final review” prior to getting a class date, they look at our training records at XJT, you can not have failure, cannot have over a certain number of sick calls, no dispilinary letters on file etc. It’s not just a gimmie as you seem to be suggesting. We get a hogan invite, after that it’s on us to earn the job and wait potentially years for a class date. I think the CPP is absolutely a blessing, we’re very fortunate to get that hogan opportunity as I too have been applying for years and understand how frustrating it can be not to get a chance. So, for that we’re very fortunate, yes.
And as far as only being guaranteed the Hogan goes, do you have any idea how many off the street guys are dying to get a Hogan in their email? Try not to treat it like it's not big deal because to thousands of guys busting their tails to get here that weren't lucky enough to get a handout from a CPP, it is a big deal.
Absolutely it’s a huge upper hand to get a guaranteed chance! Getting the chance is the hardest part.
But, it’s what you make of that chance that defines your future. It’s not like envoy, we don’t just wait for a class date. It’s not a flow. Period
If I were an off the street hire that interviewed a month before a CPP guy that is now going to be senior to me the rest of my career, I would feel like a line has indeed been jumped.
I interviewed via the cpp well over a year ago. I likely won’t get a final review (which I must pass to get a CJO/ class) for a while longer.
I’m not jumping ahead of anyone. The current ots pool will be drained many times before I get a final review.
Sorry for the rant, just wanted to offer a bit of different perspective to consider when talking about how difficult or similar you might view the CPP to an off the street hires view of the process of getting on at United

Nevermind the games that were played last summer.
A “watered down” interview? GMAFB.....
Also, there’s plenty Of OTS hired that IF they had to go through the final review process wouldn’t be an OTS at all. Insane sick call rates, multiple fails and/or disciplinary issues, etc.
