You'd be on reserve forever as people bid in above you for a decade, but if you're not a commuter and live within 2.5 hours, that might not matter to you.

My point exactly. Tough to say that new hires won't be offered a wide body when new hires still in initial training are filling the current vacancy bid.

EWR/SFO for the Bus, EWR/SFO/LAX for the 737

That would be a real bad bet that will damn near guarantee 2 years of disappointment until the seat lock is up.

IAH is probably the most senior base. Looking at the bid right now you are looking at at least a year or two? Kinda a swag.
