The gline is the cut line between those guaranteed a line and reserve. The commuter policy is 2 flights on any airline.

Expect this to continue each week for a long time with 500 planes on order. Anybody could have picked 777 FO since it went to the bottom.
Just out of pure curiosity...for those that get stuck with/select the 77 or 78 and stay with it for their careers, how long would it be until they find themselves in the left seat?

Depending on the base…probably 15 years. Half the list retires in next 10 tho so maybe less

I was hired late last year. Based on the seniority progression page on CCS, i’ll meet the current SFO 777 CA plug number in 20ish years. A lot of stuff will change by 2042 so it’s impossible to gauge accurately of course.

For sure, as the past two years has shown literally anything can happen at anytime. It’s like saying who will win the super bowl ten years from now. That’s being said it’s a great time (ironically considering the pandemic) to be getting on board, regional flying transitioning to mainline, retirements, orders….even this pessimist is optimistic

What I remember is the instructors saying "You get what you get, and you don't get upset. If you don't like what you got, the door is over there".
FlewNavy, Dingdong, thanks for the update. I guess that was (now) long ago practice. I guess I haven't followed what happens during indoc for longer than I thought.

Many of the FOs I fly with on Fifi are younger than my kids.

Someone hired 5 years ago would have gained how much seniority in DCA for 737, 320 and 756?

DCA 737 would probably be around 30%. I can't say about the other two, but my guess would be 320 would be similar and 756 might be 40-45%?

What was the drop this week? Wondering if the company is going to try to liquidate the remaining 777/787 FO unfilleds before they expire on the 17th or if the Global situation has made those spots unneccesary to fill.
