the last 9 people were all 320s, for what that’s worth.

The United half wingers page on FB has been posting the drops and order of selection quite reliably FWIW.

Default New Hires

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but what are the typical creditials/hours that people are getting hired with currently?

It's legit all over the place. Mil, regional, corporate. Age mid-20s to 60. There's absolutely no "typical" about the hiring.

Hello! Has anyone here who attended WAI 2022 recently got a Hogan invite?

Is the 100 hours in 12 months a hard limit or preferred?

Has anyone that interviewed March 3-4 or so been offered a class date yet? I don't subscribe to FB so not plugged in there. I got the CJO email with a "we'll be in touch soon"........
I know there is a slow down to catch up on some training backlog, but its been radio silent since the CJO email.

Thanks in advance.

So I feel like futilely trying to predict the future. I highly desire IAH out of indoc but it looks like those have dried up. In order for them to become available again (potentially) does a vacancy bid need to close out in the weeks before your indoc class? Does a July indoc have any chance of this happening? Yes I realize there’s no realistic way to figure this out. I’m just bored and curious.

O.K. this is a good news bad news story.

The last vacancy bid was awarded on Mar 15th and had no "unfilled" assignements in IAH. That means that the company cannot give IAH as an initial assignment at the moment.

Unfilled vacancies expire after 92 days, all of the unfilled vacancies on the recent vacancy bid will expire on June 16th. So, before a July indoc class receives any assignments we will need to have another vacancy bid. That means there is a chance that you could see unfilled assignments in IAH again. Keep in mind that everybody that starts indoc before the next vacancy bid will be allowed to bid on those vacancies, so anybody ahead of you will get a shot at IAH before it goes "unfilled." IAH did go unfilled on the vacancy that closed in December, so it is not as crazy as it once was to think it is possible.

I would guess that we will likely not get any unfilled IAH assignments on the next bid, as I am betting it will be another small bid to keep the new hire flow going over the summer. With that said, your ability to get a lateral to IAH very quickly is better now than it has been in years and years. I would guess that we will be seeing large vacancy bids in the late summer and fall and the fast movement across the system will resume, including the ability to get to whatever domicile you want.

So, while I would be a little surprised if you got IAH as an initial assignment in July, I would be very surprised if you didn't have a lateral awarded to IAH by the time you were done with aircraft training/OE. Then you would just be in line waiting for them to "activate" you into IAH. That could be super fast (needs of the company) or take a few months while they backfill in behind you at whatever domicile you get inititially.
