Scarcity of skill, liability, responsibility, scrutiny, barrier to entry, life critical, breadth of skillset, continuing qualification requirements... on and on and on..

Those who sacrificed in the 2000s not made whole by a large margin. It's time.

Oh I know what we are worth and I will fight tooth and nail to get it. Yet I still have the perspective to understand the job I do and how other occupations should be making more then us but don’t. You don’t have to agree, I’m cool with that.

This one is kind of specific. I’m curious to hear if anyone knows or has had any luck themselves getting hired on at UA after leaving their aviate affiliated regional (and being enrolled in Aviate), going on to an LCC, and then applying the traditional way instead of staying at a dying regional and spending more time to meet those aviate mins.

I think the aviate guide says something along the lines of having to wait a year after leaving that aforementioned regional and I’m also curious to hear if the company has been sticking to that rule given their hiring numbers

Sorry to Jack the thread, but I didn’t want to start a new one. Recently got the leadership assessment, only problem is I don’t think if I were to get a CJO I could take the job at this point. It looks like a 3-4 month timeline from interview to being in a seat in class. What’s the best way to handle this? Take the assessment and then let them know I’m not interested? Or just go for it and try get a CJO? I heard they are valid for 1 year but that’s not realistic to expect them to hold that for me. Family commitments and financially it would be impossible for me to start so soon.

I realize it was my fault for keeping my app out there but I would still love to get a shot at United and just trying not to burn bridges. The other option I guess would be to just ignore the assessment and reapply when I’m ready but again, is that going to burn me? Need to move quick as it’s due in 2 days. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

I would just ask. Your availability date should have reflected your actual availability, but too late for that now.

I just got a CJO and while I plan to take the first class date offered, they told me during the interview they foresee having class dates every week for the foreseeable future, and if the class date I was origially offered didn't work they'd be willing to work with me. They just want to be sure you can commit to 12 weeks of training uninterupted.

Hey all! Don't mean to sidebar the thread. Newish regional FO but I'm getting my apps in pretty much everywhere. Had a quick question about ORD

Seeing the newest hire class going to SFO/EWR/LAX, I was just wondering how senior ORD runs at the moment, and how much it varies by airframe?

Thanks and hope to join the ranks eventually!

Most people on the NBs seem to get it the first vacancy after they’re hired. So anywhere from 0-4 months on property then throw in another few months to get activated assuming vacancies are running regularly.
