I’ve been here 2 years, 8 months and am 87% on the guppy in DEN and would be like 92% on the bus.... 756 in DEN went super senior as was expected.

I'm 2.5 yrs on property. Avg 15 off and 120 tfp. I'm at $111/trip to compare. Looking forward to yr 5 pay when we reach pay parity with AA/DL/UAL.

How easy is it for 5th year widebody guys to pad their checks if they wanted to, and by how much?

Almost here 5 years on 787. Easy to get 75 hours on reserve at $205/hr. This year averaged 8 days work a month. Commute has been easy with 13 hour call out. Average about 4 short calls a month.

That's equivalent to 113.2 TFP in a month at Southwest 5th year FO payscale.

A classmate of mine lives in DEN and bids reserve by choice. Simply due to work rules, he's at 118 TFP this month having worked 9 days and having 15 days off (phone off) total.

In other words... if he were a 5th-year guy ($135/tfp), he would have made slightly more. Should he choose to, he could fly more and make a lot more... hence the question whether United WB FO's can choose to fly more other than just depending on 75 hour guarantee.

Like ANG says, work rules/rigs make all the difference in the world.

A lot of my lines have been built by PBS in the mid-80s. I've done a bit of trading and have gotten that to anywhere from low 70s to high 90s, depending on how much I want to work. Since my trips are augmented, just under 1/3 to almost 1/2 of the flight is spent sleeping. Dozing for dollars.

Because some of the time I'm on the clock is in crew rest, I feel less tired flying a WB schedule. If you can't sleep in the bunks and/or don't easily adjust to different time zones, you're better off flying NB domestic.

Where do you commute from and how many assigned SC do you average? Field standby exist on the 87? Any idea if the 777 is different? And I guess most importantly, are the SC structured so you can commute down and back same day? Trying to get an idea if it really is different than commuting to reserve on the NB. I should be able to hold the 777 on this bid and debating it, just don’t want to deal with 5am SC driving a commute the night before, etc.

Thanks!
