Favorite line so far when it comes out that I’m also one of them “well my son, wife, uncle, brother in law, father and dog are grads and we all wear our rings and give to the endowment! You need to take pride in the institution that’s given you so much!”

It’s like they’re out to make the entire group look bad.

You meet in the crew room?

If you’ve got a better place to get free granola bars and stale coffee, I’m all ears.

I have to give them credit for not giving it up eight years in.

Old. “Should. Indicates a preferred but not mandatory method of accomplishment.”

New. "Should. Indicates actions that are expected. If the “should” expectation cannot be met, there must be a compelling reason."

Future. "Should. Indicates actions that are really, really expected. If the “should” expectation cannot be met, you “may” refer to definition of “must, shall, will.”

Have you been following the American wholly owned charade? Or maybe you are more following the UAX charade, guess what, the flying got all taken from XJT (good contract) and given to TSA/Mesa/Republic/Skywest.

That's how it works in the regional industry, you take the garbage or you lose the flying, PERIOD. The only way to get the flying back from regionals is through your CBA, not hoping and praying that everyone will say no in the regionals. Because if they do, guess what happens? Remember when TSA said no to a garbage contract in exchange for crj700s? Yeah they literally created a new airline, GoJet.

NOTHING will change unless it is from the top. Stop blaming the pilots that are in the mess YOU (categorical legacy you, not you personally) created.
I know plenty of XJT pilots and they all would have preferred you (random RJ you) not screw them over when they were putting up a noble fight. We are different animalls, my soul is worth more to me than $35K/yr. Scope is solid at UA (read Kirby complain about it in the media), what at the top needs to change to fix your circle of pain? I would rather find a different profession (and have when I needed to) than screw another RJ pilot group to score some flying. If this syndrome helps you feel better about saying I had no choice to vote yes to scab like contracts during record airline profits, Kinda sad. There is a choice, don’t sell crack to UAX or UA mgmt for garbage man wages just because if you don’t some other guy will. That’s about it.
