That's not true. The company is buying 76 seaters, and can continue to buy them, beyond the 20 that will be delivered next year.

What they can't do, what scope is prohibiting them from doing, is to continue to subcontract out beyond their current numbers.

If they don't want to buy a NSNB but still want more 76 seaters? Great! Send me to school so I can get a type rating. I'll fly it.

UAL corporation owns plenty of E-175's, and the pay scale is listed on our current contract. Need more of them? Get me a type rating and I'll be happy to fly it!

They’re just buying E175’s and only putting 70 seats in to replace the old junked out 70 seaters.

I’d love to see all jets with United painted on the side flown by United pilots, but that’s not realistic. Buying a SNB would be a huge step toward that, but they don’t seem to want to do that either. If they won’t give us 100 seat jets, 76 seat jets are a pipe dream. They have available options now, they are just choosing not to exercise any of them. So we wait.

Can you explain the SNB language? UA Is buying 50 321 Neos. Those don’t count?

Personally I’d love to see them show up and take an ax to UAX, but line pilots don’t make those decisions. I don’t see how I’m making excuses for the company. If they think that a SNB is a fit, they’ll buy them. Obviously they don’t at this time. As far as being correct, but irrelevant during contract negotiations, I find that a little strange. Are we supposed to run around like Rachel Maddow or Sean Hannity reciting a one sided story while ignoring any information that may not fit our narrative simply because we’re in contract negotiations?

“New Small Narrowbody Aircraft” means a CS100, E190 or E195 aircraft, provided that such aircraft is neither in the Company Fleet as of the date of signing of this Agreement nor acquired through merger or acquisition of another air carrier.

The emphasis is on "small" meaning a plane with approximately 100 seats. The idea being to continue enabling flying being done by express carriers into smaller airports using 76 seat airplanes to migrate back to mainline on a 100 seat plane.

An A321 seats 180 pax. It is a Narrow Body, but it is anything but "Small".

If United's management can't figure out how to do it without pilot scope concessions, then United's management needs to be replaced.

Let's stop making excuses for United management's incompetence on being able to profitably fly with a cap on RJs.
It’s not going to be easy when Delta’s flying around with planes they got with a half billion price break. And that’s half billion off production cost, not some normal pricing level with a profit margin.

That’s cause we passed on it first. They even offered to shrink the plane for us. Another win from our management.

United will settle the max drama with Boeing with an order of 4 773s
11 787s and 50 E195s or E2s whatever they call those 110 seaters for mainline with an option for another 25,
Along with 50 firm 175s for Mana air
All at very very cheap prices.

Just wait till feb 2020

E195s for mainline? Kirby has already said they don’t make sense.
