FWIW, the poll at SWAPA just closed. Voter turnout was huge with 7,200 pilots voting by a 3 to 2 majority to oppose an age increase.

If it comes down to Congress acting I guarantee that the lobbyists representing the airlines and manufacturers vastly outweigh ALPA lobbyists.

The airlines lobby via the ATA (Airline Transport Association). The ATA is controlled by the major airlines. They are not in favor of raising the age as it would be a huge increase in disability costs.

It's the RAA which would lobby for the "in favor" sector of the industry.

They don’t have the money or clout of the ATA.

^This. No airline is really wanting an age increase. Why would any company want to extend the length of time their least productive and most expensive pilots (most leave/sick bank/highest salary) are around? Not to mention health care costs etc. Regionals while may see lower attrition due to potential slow/halt of hirings, the 1-2 years is really no help. Hopefully the industry with the help of our Unions can kill this bad idea.
