there is a big difference. You will not find SOP in the FOM. If I gave a new hire an FOM and a systems manual and said read both from front to back and In 1 week you will have a checkride, they will fail in epic fashion. Why? Because the FOM doesn’t tell you how to fly and airplane.

its simply not correct.
the last 30 pages of this thread have been a total waste of time.....I’m just glad we are having a new conversation that has nothing to do with furloughs

Ummm......Every airline has an FOM that is approved by an FAA POI. Next time you're in the sim or a Fed is in your jumpseat, why don't you try deviating from that federally mandated guide and see how it turns out. Beginning to wonder if you are really a pilot or just an internet troll.
Tell me that every airline has the exact same checklists and callouts on same equipment.
Because that's the granularity you're looking for with Covid.

Furlough “plus”
can someone shed light on how this mitigates furloughs? I haven’t slept at a holiday inn in a while but to me this appears to have the opposite effect.
