Make sure you take a screenshot of your pay register as soon as it comes out.

Right now we can't find a travel indication for our hotels that shows anything but a 40% recovery in our locations (Northwestern New England and Upstate New York) that shows any hope for the next year. Just wondering since the majority of our guests come in by air for fall and winter foliage and skiing. Our logistics segment is holding steady, manufacturing is doing well with medical and construction is starting a recovery but travel is not a positive. Any positive you could share would assist and be appreciated. Thanks.
I don't see anything positive on the horizon.(This is coming from a glass is half full/positive person)

A lot of my friends, family and neighbors have jobs that require extensive travel. Not one thinks their company will authorize travel any time this year. (Read no frequent fliers, no international) .

Even when they are allowed, most are not sure when they will actually start flying again.

Compound that with a resurgence of the virus, the rest of the world locking out Americans, trade war, upcoming election, and god knows what else this crappy year is going to throw at us, I just don't get how anyone can pretend this is going back to 100% any time soon.

Luckily United is planning for next summer when things might get better.

I hope I am wrong, but as I said months ago, I still think this place will have 10000 pilots next year.

Hopefully, the furloughs will be mitigated by thousands taking paid leave. I know I will take one.

I assume he means the ESRL's. Personally, I see those going away. Doubt they will be offered as an option beyond 2020. I hope I am wrong. I'd prefer to keep as many guys on property as possible.

Guess I am putting the cart in front of the horse.

The company seems to have no interest in early outs, so I assume they will continue long term ersl's.

Every other airline has some furlough mitigation proposal, I hope United is no different.

Like I said, I am a positive person😉

FWIW, the company has communicated not to expect additional extended ESRLs.

Read into that what you want.

I remember in past cycles that SRLs (or whatever we called them before) were discontinued when the surpluses were eliminated.

positive is good. But why offer ESRL when you can furlough

the so called “enhanced” SRL saved the company money over the regular SRL. I expect all of that to end 10/1.

If this virus was the boogey man everyone said it was in March, we’d all be wondering how we can find the space to bury everyone. But it hasn’t turned out that way.

I’m convinced COVID will die out when everyone stops talking about it. Looking at you, mainstream media.

130,000+ dead Americans. Your skull is impervious to logic, reason, and rational thought. Your words are the inane ramblings of a conspiracy theorist, on par with flat earthers and people who think we faked the moon landings.

As for United, not sharing their furlough plan before last Friday confuses me. Same way that I am mystified by their apparent lack of interest in ESLRs, early outs, and the A220.
