Never heard of Winter. It is a good looking boat though.

Has the MEC take any pay cuts since this c19 happened? They all still getting their 94.5 fulltime hours, non displaced?

What type of actual guidance have the LEC reps delivered to the NC and what were the size and depth dimensions of their sandbox? Who guided the NC, the reps or the Master Chair?

Why all the executive session?

What type of polling has taken place in order to get the pulse of the pilots? What limitations have the pilot group placed on this process?

The top 2/3's have all taken a beating on displacements. Most lose about 10K a month due to lost pay in lower paying categories. Have the MEC on FT pay protection experienced the same? Or do they continue to get their "best held" 94.5 hrs pay without going to training? Will they have to retroactively repay anything? My concern is that Insler and his gang will keep getting big pay, while the minion line pilots take one for the team.

What are the automatic triggers to snap back and retro pay? Who guarantees we get made whole and what is that process?

When did the LEC reps authorize the NC to pursue this course of action?

What does the AIP do to dues income at ALPA as compared to not having the AIP?

Is this now simply a part time job? Is that the view of ALPA?

Are the pilots simply financing the business plan of UAL, or is the rest of the employees taking one for the team as well? Are we the only ones "participating" in reduced earnings schemes to finance and fund the airlines business plan?

Not UAL, but to get answers, you need to pick up the phone and call your reps. Don't post on some forum or facebook. Don't email. Pick up the phone, talk to them directly. It's much easier to get the nuance of the situation that way.

If you don't like the answer your reps give you, call the reps in another council, especially one that's known to have a different point of view. They might direct you to call your own reps, but if they're interested in giving you that different point of view, they might chat with you and that will at least allow you to "bookend" the situation.

Get your friends to call. Get their friends to call. If you have reps that represent 1,000 pilots, that drains their phone in a hurry. Having the same 10 or 15 people call that always call doesn't get the message through. Having a lot of people call, who don't normally call, is noticed in a big way.

I agree and certainly wouldn’t want to do what they’re doing, so I’m very thankful.

BUT

I do get tired of hearing that we need to cut them some slack during things like contract negotiations before covid because they’re “just volunteers.” So are they just volunteers or paid professionals doing this? If we’re going to have paid professionals going up against the company, why not get actual paid professionals and not pilots moonlighting? Shared sacrifice right? Everyone s#!+ when Oscar and Scooter only took a 10% pay cut during this thing...do our union leaders do the same? Serious question here. Did Scott Kirby really take a bigger pay cut than Insler?

I see. So Bob Shoemaker was a good guy then? I get it.

The point is they shouldn't be making more than the line pilots who are working under the current circumstances, and who will soon be slaving under a new concessionary cba.

The decisions are the LEC reps to make, not the master chair. He works for the reps. Reps work for the pilots. Can't wait for that polling and the polling data.

Perhaps the questions put people on the spot. I've left a few voice mails asking specific and tough questions. After three days I get tired of waiting...Likely no answer because the answers require a certain level of candor.

However, that's bad advice. All of these sorts of questions should be covered by forward thinking local communications that answer these things before they become line pilot questions or concerns. I call it proactive communications. We should try it sometime. I hope the NC didn't just go VFR direct and do their own thing without the full blessings of the MEC. I would love to read it all in the minutes. But, so many executive sessions, can't find who said what, etc. Can't put executive session stuff in the minutes.....interesting.

I'm in a council with a LOT of pilots, and my rep always gets back to me inside of 24 hours, but it's usually more like 4-6 hours. 72 hours and still no callback would warrant me calling again.

Reading the minutes would inform you why this went from furlough mitigation to a jobs program laden with vote buying sausage. Now you're left with reading between the lines.

I did a little home study. You appear to be correct. Interesting. My wife lots her job too. Another pay cut for me means big time problems. Left seat from big airplane to little airplane, plus the decrease in productivity is really three pay cuts since March. One more via a LOA or AIP means a fourth. Nice to see our full time trip loss sausage making brethren are eating at the same food trough as the help. Basically, we will have Captains making FO wages on their take home pay.

Who is making the deals to buy the votes? What is the gain? Is this all about personal loyalty and allegiances to specific MEC officers? What is the pay off or payback?
