Ok I’m just not seeing how this is good for Delta. I’m going over it in my head and it just doesn’t make sense.
the United deal keeps everyone current and a good chunk of pilots in their previous seats. We all fly, we all stay current we all attend CQ. If the company adds 7 lines of flying to IAH 320 the day before bids open the pilots are there to absorb that. That makes sense to me.
the Delta deal says we’ll give the UNA pilots 30 hours a month and we’ll let you know when we need you.....that’s a paid furlough!!!! Why would they do that? What benefit does that give DL if their pilots aren’t current?
what am I missing?

The UNAs will still get health insurance, 401k and can get outside job to supplement their income.
Also lower over time triggers, positive space to work for a year and new retirement accounts for those who want to.

Aren’t we supposed to benefit from pattern bargaining? DALPA needs only fo us on the bright shiny objects. Worked for UAL pilots. Don’t you Delta guys want First Class DH? And what about increased LTD? Oh and a 5% pay raise***. Throw all these things in and at least 58% will vote yes. Ya just need to know how to craft it to sell it.
*** 5 % pay raise only realized after 16 straight quarters of 8% of Better net profit

We had a contract in place. That contract had plenty of provisions to protect potential furloughees. ALPA decided to divide the pilot group. Some benefited quite handsomely others didn’t. NF reaped the the rewards of a carve out that helped sell our vote. Temper your conclusions when considering his input.

You think I’m commenting about whether or not he still possesses it? The sheer fact that it was offered and not publicly rescinded was bad enough. I honestly think he enjoyed divisions it caused.

It was publicly rescinded if you looked, and read your email. Did you want him to call you personally? It’s been offered to (and declined) by every MEC that’s qualified for it.

Documented facts have no effect on those driven by their own agenda or narrative. Just look at politics and the various politically correct narratives that are blindly recited, although proven to be factually inaccurate. Facts are old and outdated. It’s all about perception and feelings now.

Publicly? You mean like a lawyer responding to a question. This special “lifetime” perk was not offered to other MEC Chairman and the rules were actually changed to allow him to qualify. GMAB
