Sounds like a personal problem. Enjoy your time off.

What provisions were going to protect everyone (or anyone) from furlough?

Interesting stat from last trip. The dude I flew with said it had been weeks since he’d flown with anyone who WASN’T pay protected. So it’s looking more like a carve-IN, just as it was designed to be.

You were obviously happy with your seat and your pay for that seat pre-COVID, otherwise you would have bid something else. Now you’re jealous of those who did take a bid. Again, sounds like a personal problem.

That’s a ridiculous statement. You know the contract is designed as a deterrence to furlough. Why not strengthen that section in conjunction with a very small assessment going forward to set up a fund to help future furloughs in need? Instead we have undertaken a large majority of the furlough financial burden and have some signaling a willingness to do so in the future. No wonder the company could care less about offering a serious early out program. They didn’t need to. They got us to pay for their numbers.

Sure thing Scott. Tell us about all those who were bumped and lost the equipment at their domicile.

You are right. The 16th check will be less.

My point is get over it and move on.

No sugar high here. I’m retired so my monthly check is less ... much less. Not complaining.

In full disclosure ... If I were still on the property the agreement would not have cost me a dime. Last few years I bid low time and dropped from there. I know a few other guys that did the same.

I learned to work to live rather than live to work ... You don’t get to take a whole lot of it with you when you leave.

I am blessed in that I went through several airlines and other industry wild rides early on in my career. I learned early on the benefits of living within or below my means early on. Makes for low stress and few worries. YMMV

It WOULD have cost you many dimes during your vacation months. But lets just ignore facts.

I am looking forward because to some it seems that we are going to continue to buy furlough jobs in the future. Sad how you referenced yourself 8 times with “I” or “I’m” but are comfortable telling others how to live or conduct their finances. Suggestion, don’t base your argument on the fact that I’m living above my means.

A vote on cutting someone else’s compensation is vastly different than voting on how the gains are divided. Going forward, how much are we willing to devalue this career?

Please explain how we devalued this career again? We ALL are still working for the same pay rates, actually more because of the pay protections. This is a temporary agreement with many ways to terminate it.

Do you sleep with all of your lights on in your house, because you seem to have a lot of irrational fears?
