“If the grandparents are vaccinated, then what’s the problem?” How are the people in this category at any significant risk if they are vaccinated?? Is there a minuscule risk that they may contract covid from another person? Of course, thats true with most viruses/vaccines.
Be interesting to see how that whole thing pans out.
And what are/were the chances that FIVE people that are vaxx’d would have got it despite even Fauci saying the chances are extremely low you’ll contract the virus?

ob·tuse
/əbˈt(y)o͞os,äbˈt(y)o͞os/
adjective
- annoyingly insensitive or slow to understand.
I’m not sure how I fit that description, at least in this context (though my ex-wife may disagree
). I don’t believe I’m being “annoyingly insensitive” when I asked the obvious question: “If the grandparents are vaccinated, then what’s the problem?” How are the people in this category at any significant risk if they are vaccinated?? Is there a minuscule risk that they may contract covid from another person? Of course, thats true with most viruses/vaccines. However, it is completely unethical to vaccinate one group of people in order to protect another group. That is undeniable. As far as being “slow to understand”, I think you may mean I am hesitant to agree with your point of view, which is true. But that doesn’t mean I don’t understand. Many things in life can be understood, yet not agreed with/condoned.

Likewise I'm sure you respect my choice to get vaccinated. Our individual choices are only part of the equation though - the public health macro perspective doesn't really hinge on flightmedic or axl's individual choice but looks at 'community' statistics. I'm ok if you defend your choice. However, I know that if too many people within a community share that perspective we will all suffer the consequences of a spreading & mutating virus.

It's a risk assessment issue - and YOU don't get to dictate someone else's risk tolerance (not even granny and pappy's). What you dismiss as miniscule may be a big concern to others. So yes, they may have something to worry about.

If everyone (I realize this will never happen) had either gotten the vaccine or achieved natural immunity, this thing would just fizzle out.

There’s lots more than 5. The issue is that the amount of those people that end up in the hospital or dead is infinitesimally small when compared to those who have been vaccinated. If the vaccine just makes this a cold for people, we can start just putting this stuff in the rear view mirror.

I KNOW.
I was simply referencing a SPECIFIC example.
True. Sadly, the amount of healthy/non-obese people that contracted it before being vaxx'd never really felt anything worse than a cold either....
We have yet to see how these 5 may be affected. Hopefully it rings valid that the symptoms are mild to nil.

Why just look at 5, though. Around 3700 breakthrough cases reported to the CDC died or were hospitalized attributablr to COVID-19. It’s gonna happen, it’s just a much smaller number.

If they were all together and exposed to a high viral load? i wouldn't be surprised. I hope they are all asymptomatic or experience very mild symptoms and recover soon!

Let’s take a hypothetical scenario of an immune compromised patient who lives in your neighborhood. Do you require everyone on the block to wear a mask/social distance/etc so that person doesn’t get sick or does the individual patient limit their risks and avoid contact with others.
