Just jealous of your day trips. On the whale and we don't have those type of trips in ANC.

Not sure how that would work around the weekends..maybe someone that flies domestic can address it.

Our European flying isn't quite like network passenger carriers' European flying...

Figure out where you want to live, then go to whichever allows you to live "in base." A little extra coin here and there is great and all, but you can't put a price on being home a bunch more throughout your 30s/40s/50s, which I much prefer over working like crazy to try and retire a few years. I moved legacy airlines for home basing and I couldn't be happier with the decision. Long Euro layovers were great and all, but after a while, it just meant more time not spent at home with family/doing hobbies. As someone eluded to above, every airlines quest for optimization is slowly squeezing the good deal stuff anyway. In the end, an overnight just becomes another overnight.

I would say our intra-European flying looks nothing like US pax carriers European flying. It’s effectively the same as sort flying in CONUS. It can be a great deal if you want to stay on East coast time or if you are commuting from Europe. The mid-week layovers are relatively short, but they get long layovers on weekends. It’s one of our most senior fleets, so obviously most people find it a pretty good deal, but it’s not something you could consistently hold as a junior guy.

Our long haul European flying (mostly 74, some 76 & occasionally MD) more closely resembles US pax carriers flying over there.
