There is absolutely no reason for checking, or the desire to check another Pilot’s schedule. Unfortunately, some guys just can’t help themselves. I’ve had to defend at least a dozen Pilots, and Union volunteers, who have used access to another Pilots’s schedule for nefarious, and somewhat immoral purposes.
99% of the Pilots access each other’s schedules with no I’ll intent. But the 1% who do have an axe to grind really screw the poocha d cause bug problems . Not a hill that I’m willing to die on either way; just not worth the risks imho.

Your argument against transparency harms 14000 pilots because of 12 who one way or another would find a way to get in trouble.

I completely disagree. There is nothing about nefarious about schedule integrity and a transparent process. The airline I was mentored under all had our schedules unlocked for the reasons I outlined in my previous post. Those that blocked their schedules were either Scabs, gaming the system, or for specific personal reasons.

As stated, not a hill I’m willing to die on. I would caution against classifying everyone who disagrees with you as a scab. It devalues the term.

My apologies, but the United MEC does have a history of redefining the term “scab” when it has suited their purposes. And you’re right, I was mentored at the USAIRWAYS MEC, a zero-scab environment, so it was 8 years into my career before I ever flew with one, outside the military.
In all honesty, this just seems like something that you’re more passionate about than me. We probably agree on most of the issues, this has just never been a priority to me; in that we differ. Godspeed

Just for something to think about, we at DAL don’t have an option to “block” our schedule and I hope we never do. We can see who viewed our schedule and when. There is nothing private or personal that can be seen. It’s been helpful in answering “why did I get this trip and this guy didn’t” or “why did he get this and I didn’t.”
